My commute is 12 miles to work, 80% motorway but averaging only around 60mph due to the volume of traffic so hopefully I would get to and from work on a single charge then I can opt out of company fuel.
You'll certainley get 12 miles on one charge but back home will be a struggle without charging at work. My commute is about 20 miles snd i cam do that at 148mpg driving very carefully! About 14, 15 miles can be done on electric only.
Happy_Harris is right with the 14 to 15 miles on electric only. I get a bit less but my commute involves a lot of stop start due to traffic lights. I did a test last weekend. With a fully charged battery (showing 21 miles range) on a flat road, EcoPro mode, Max eDrive and Cruise Control set to 55mph, I managed 16.5 miles before the ice kicked in.
My journey to work is 11 miles each way with half being motorway speeds (traffic permitting which is rare) and I can charge at work (currently free but I suspect that will change as more hybrids arrive). Its great to know the potential fuel savings however I know my right foot will enjoy the full fun on offer so not counting on the fuel savings just yet!

Done some more digging.

Unfortunately if you only have the Business Nav then you can not send routes to it using BMW Routes or USB. Bloody stupid, and a key point for this car that is not clear... Quite odd too when you can use the phone app to send a single destination.

I have found out how to add a 2nd way point in to the Nav by setting a home address and work address in the Nav system.

You then have to set the destination as work, and then add in a further destination of home.

However this still doesn't allow me to set the route I drive to work.

Also regardless of mode ie using eco the car still just uses all the battery in one go. I thought it would switch from electric to petrol out of town, but it is staying in electric when avg speeds are about 50mph for 5-10miles, so I still arrived at work with all the battery gone.

Also - is anyone elses car 'creaking'? On anything but the smoothest of roads I can hear very loud creaking type noises from the back seat area, almost like the leather is rubbing against itself causing friction and noise. As the rest of the car is so quiet, this is very very annoying ! I end up having to turn the radio up to cover it up.

My car has only done 100 miles but no creaking at all.

Still playing with it to work out how it all works to be honest! It's very nice though, decent turn of speed is a bonus. Hk is stunning, blows the Bose I had in the a6 out of the water.

The 16 speaker HK really is fantastic, with the equalizer settings tweaked it is an awesome system. I did google and try other folks settings mind you smile

I sometimes wonder now if 600w is enough though lol.

This is a well known F30 BMW issue Dunc. It's the door seals, and once you notice them they're a bugger because you can never "unnotice" them!

There are however some fixes, which can be found on many a forum (probably this one if you do a search). There's a BMW product and a couple of home remedies but I'm sure you'll find the answer easy enough. The biggest factor seems to be either those who use the drive-through car wash places (who give your door inserts and edges a clean) or those fastidious type who religiously wash and polish their cars every week.

If you can't find anything, let me know via the forum and I'll dig out some info for you.

Can't say I've noticed any creaking from the doors or otherwise, currently on a 6000 miles with no issues at all.

My driver's door squeaks - lower the window a centimeter and and it goes away. Just booked it into BMW to be looked at, 4 week wait though as I need a courtesy car. Hope it isn't one of them noisy diesels!!

My driver door creacked too, seemingly a common issue on the 330e for some reason? BMW replaced my trim and ive had no problems since

Thanks for the advice above !

Makes absolute sense when you actually go to the car, in fact I could replicate the noise just lightly pressing on the glass.

The solution - extra virgin olive oil lightly rubbed on to the door frames and rubber seals.

Took it for a quick drive, and it's bliss. Really didn't quite appreciate how noisy it was before, or what a lovely quiet car it can be!

Had a 2-day test drive of a 330e sport last week. Could not believe how quick it was compared to my 520d or 330d X-drive. When I got back into the diesels they seemed so loud too! I did a good 120 mile run on mainly A Roads and Motorway to replicate my commute to work; started with a full battery, and achieved 58mph - which I was very happy with. It was also very addictive trying to maximise the mpg. The preconditioner will be a real blessing on those cold winter mornings too.....no more defrosting the car.

Well that's it I've ordered one. I couldn't get anywhere near a Sport or M Spec. We have to lease on 3yrs, 25K miles nothing down:-

BMW 3 Series SALOON PETROL 330e SAL 2.0 PHEV SE AU
Mineral Grey
Black Leather
Factory Options: 2l3 17in Light V-spoke Style 395 Alloys
430 Exterior Mirror-folding Auto Dimming
Lc Dakota Leather Upholstery
Zic Interior Comfort Package
Znp Media Package - BMW Professional
Estimated delivery date: 06/02/2017

After driving the 330e I was hooked, I didn't want anything else. The family wanted me to order the Outlander PHEV barge. But hey, I will have to invest in a roof box instead LOL. My only real disappointment in the spec is halogen headlights. You would have thought that on a £30K+ car they would have been at least Xenon. But hey ho, beggars can't be choosers and something had to give!

Today was my first commute with a fully charged overnight battery. Car has done 500 miles in a week.

Commute is 10.6 miles, mainly 50mph A road, one village in the middle, traffic was pretty light this morning with very little queues. I also drove as efficiency as I could (for once!).

Stats:
Distance - 10.6
Electric distance driven - 78%
Consumption - 235.4MPG
Duration - 21 minutes

I still have 53% battery left, but there will be a ton more traffic on the way home. I know I won't always get that, but it is amazing what you can do with the right commute and traffic conditions.

Return leg:
11.2 miles
54% electric distance
consumption - 72.4 MPG

It used up lots of battery very quickly (presumably down to lights and heating) and then settled down. The last 4 miles were a combination of electric and petrol, a lot more petrol than not, and ended up settling about 9% left. On charge now, so overall pretty happy with that. Will see how it goes over winter, I'm expecting that to get worse!

Sounds good. When did your order go in please? My accountant 'signed mine off and ordered with Lex' 2 weeks ago and is on holiday now so can't check when it was actually placed but assumed it was going to be a much longer delivery date than early Feb.

I pushed the button through our fleet manager on 13/10, got the order confirmation back from the lease company on 26/10.

That's a nice spec, as a mineral grey owner it's really growing on me for it's looks as well smile

Someones just snapped the charge flap off in the car park, great. 2nd 330e casualty in barely 6 months of ownership, glad she didn't break the plug aswell I suppose it would probably be a write off!

Going to have to fashion something vaguely weatherproof over the socket before driving home! Argh I hate other people.
