This the only EV I would get rid of my Polestar 2 for.

At £60k I think it is a bargain for the space, equipment and performance levels.

Unless you really need the extra range you would have to be mental to pick a Model Y over this imo.
If buying cash perhaps but I guarantee if leasing or as a company car the EV6 will be more expensive despite the cheaper list price. Will be its biggest challenge to overcome if they want to shift them in numbers.

And are you sure a Taycan GTS wouldn't tempt you.? smile

Sorry, I was talking for similar money.

Taycan GTS for me isn't worth the £120k+ specified for the range and performance even if I could afford one...

I jusy don't think EVs just aren't special enough to demand that sort of money yet. I would take the Kia and a £70k toy.

If I was lucky enough to already own something special for the weekend my money for a daily would go on a range rover or similar for that price point rather than something that will do 200 miles to a charge if you are driving it like a performance car.

The only reason so many are sold is BIK as is the case with most EVs otherwise it would have been a bit of a flop in the UK.

On your first point - i would too.

Defo on your last point too

Tempting but I’m holding out for a Polestar 3.
I really don’t need this power and speed.

I suspect a decent spec Polestar 3 might be £75-80k which might be an issue...

The 2 is £57k now with metallic paint and plus and pilot packs options whereas my launch spec one was £48k only 18 months ago with the full pilot pack rather than pilot lite.

Yep - I’ve been following the prices.
Same for me in September 2020 when I ordered the P2, with the £3k EV grant still in place wobble

With EV running cost being so cheap, and I have solar panels for free charging - that’s got to be worth an extra £300 a month of bargaining power over my other half tongue out

Given what a golf costs now days for a car with very cheap materials and finish, the ev6 looks like a bargain

Agree with that, although having run an EV with similar performance to the EV6 GT for 2 years I would personally be happy with a lower powered/cheaper model and more money for the toy. IME experience the opportunities to use it are so fleeting that it ends up being frustrating rather than fun experience.

An i3S and Lotus Emira/Cayman GT4 would be the perfect pairing. smile

The 321hp GT Line-S EV6 with heatpump is now priced at £56k. If they do launch the GT at £62k as suggested I would guess it won't be that price for long?

I pre-ordered mine on launch day nearly 18 months ago.
Loved the look of the silver colour that was in the press shots, on Kia’s website etc and see all the vids out today are still in the same good looking silver colour.
Problem is, in the UK if you want that silver colour even if you preordered on launch day, you won’t get it until ‘sometime’ in 2024 so the dealers are saying.
I have a choice of either black or white only for delivery this year.
I was told I can't order the silver colour at all, that it was a launch colour and all sold out. Black or white, £61k plus change OTR for April 2023 delivery at the moment, but they wouldn't take an order at all for grey/silver. I did not place an order. Well done you for getting in early!

I'm hoping to do the same on the ioniq 5 N, and will get my order in on day 1, but I'll have my eye open for a EV6 GT in grey, providing they don't go for silly overs.

I'm also worried the price is too cheap. I hope they don't adjust it upwards and then the ioniq 5 N launches at a higher price...

100% need to get in early to get the price being mentioned I'd suggest. I can see it jumping by 5-10% very quickly.

It’s good value compared to comparable cars, but it’s still a bit odd looking and at least 10% too big in all directions. The Genesis looks even more mahoosive. Parked my Model 3 alongside one a week ago and it dwarfed it. Roll on something with similar performance but at Golf size. Looks like MG will get there first.

I think the MG4 EV is going to be a very common sight

I agree. I loved the promo shots of the ev6 but in the flesh it just somehow doesn't quite work.

Yes the pricing is very odd. Current price for an AWD GT line S with heat pump and premium paint is nearly £57K but my GT pre-ordered last year is price fixed at £59k so it’s a no brainier for me. I wish they offered more colours though in the GT range, I would like a red one.

I wouldn’t pay 10k more for one as honestly the regular AWD model is enough but the price gap makes it too hard to resist.
