Well, with Italian electrics, anything is possible!

I did wince at the thought of those electronically opening doors. Then relief when he showed the emergency escape door pull in the door bin!

Which will be extremely helpful if it breaks when you’re not in the car hehe electric door handles are the stupidest idea ever, manual door handles work fine, stop fking around with things that work fine, just for the sake of it.

All this other clap trap like lane assist is also a complete waste of time and added irritation for me, I have eyes and a steering wheel for that.

Wife ordered one of these yesterday.

Whilst not as a secure or measured as the Abarth Comp it feels real world fast and the interior is just a big step up.

Anyone else taken the jump into the new 500?

Old one was an awful thing, we test drove some about 5 years ago, but this electric one looks great - and it’s a convertible which for an ev puts it in a class of, erm, one?
I quite liked the petrol 500, we had a couple of them as hire cars in Italy. Managed to park up next to a 60's cinque, it's amazing how that made the current one look enormous.

The Smart EQ is the only other convertible EV I can think of at present.

Saw this the other day on a weekend out, wondered what it was.

It was an old ('70s) 500 the guy restored. The new one would dwarf it indeed by some margin. The EV version didn't really grow that much (even got shorter), as opposed tot the MINI EV, which grew once again in every dimension iirc.

Kahn have done their thing with the 500e https://www.autoevolution.com/news/fiat-500e-c-des...

No changes to the motor, it's lowered an inch and has new 18 inch wheels. They haven't said a price.

As much as i really like that Kahn one, i could not justify the prices!!

https://projectkahn.com/collections/fiat-500e-2020...

£900 for lowering springs!!
£2k for a set of 18" alloys.
£2.4k for a carbon steering wheel.
£4k for the interior.
No bodykit prices.

I think the bodykit and wheels are an improvement. I’ll pass on the interior though

Kahn’t believe I’m saying this but the Kahn one looks really good. Outside anyway. Like the wheels a lot.
We test drove a convertible last year, we were both really impressed with it, apart from it breaking down. Needed a software update apparently.
Mini are supposed to be thinking about a convertible EV but until they do this is still the only game in town I think.

Fiat announced a while ago that the 500e would be the only 500 model available, but there still seem to be stock of petrol models to shift. They've gone all in and seem to have made a lot of them, there are over 430 on A/T (some may be 'order' ads of course), but 31 are 2021 reg!

My folk's neighbour has one (a 'red' model) and with that spec, they're nearly £30k. I would consider one for local journeys ((I never seem to 'cope' with just one vehicle for the last 20 years smile)and there are lightly used ones for just over £20k and there seems to be quite a bit of stock new for £23k + with the smaller battery. scratchchin

A lot of YouTubers (including Hubnut) have put videos out in the last week or so of 500e's they have had on a month trial loan from the Onto EV car subscription site. On the Onto site it's available for the same cost as a Zoe. More Onto's advertising than Fiat though.

I have had one for a year, just back from its 1st service today. Mostly round town driving, have got predicted range of 195 miles in the summer, back to 165 now its cooler. Miles/kwh is 5.7 for the last 2k miles.Did a 175 mile trip in June, part motorway, part A roads. Was taking it steady but got home with 20ish % left on the battery, I was pretty pleased with that.

Sounds good.

I asked the sales lady what the service consisted of. She said she did not know.

Wanted £295 for two services.

Do you know what they did in your service ?

Not much, I believe its essentially a check over. No fluids to change, although they still charge £1 for washer fluid - they all do that don't they. £94 was the total. I've read that some people are being charged almost twice that, which is a rip off.

Just spotted the thread on these.

Borrowed a 500e Convertible as part of my job the other month, and it was the most fun I've had behind the wheel in ages. Absolutely cracking little car, was like a dodgem around town, interior quality was great.

Had so much fun that I didn't even care that it was metallic pink on the outside, despite the significant amount of piss taking I got when my mate saw me turn up in it with the roof down laugh

I had a look around and sat in one at the Manchester Late Brake Show tour last year, it was just a bit tight for me to be comfortable in, same as the 'old' petrol 500. A Honda E was fine for me though.

May I ask what dealer you used ?

Arnold Clark offered 2 services for £295

May look elsewhere I suspect (am in Manchester)

D Salmon in Colchester, Essex. Bought the car from them too, there is a dealer closer but found their customer service appalling when we were buying, so happy to go further..
