Why not install a charger at the bolt hole? I have one at my holiday home which makes the EV thing perfect tbh.
I installed a 32a commando socket at my parents' house (talk of the village we were biggrin) and it connects directly to the supplied stock car charger (the Porsche one can do 13a or 32a as you can swop from 3 pin to 32a commando). Cost 2 tankfuls of petrol.... Make sure your spark knows about earthing if your charger doesnt have PEN fault detection.

My weekend bolt hole is in Anglesey and i live south of Brum. I couldn't have an EV yet.
Anglesey is 140 miles from South Brum, any number of EV's that would easily do that trip and most of the way back if required. Our old i3 with a tiny battery would have got you there without issue even in colder weather allowing you to charge on arrival (assuming you can)
But it wouldnt support our activities there over the week/weekend too, or the fact i'd have commuted on the friday first so wouldn't have started fully charged. Trust me i'd quite like an i4 BMW at the moment but i cant make it fit my life
Fair enough, your original post does suggest the issue was the distance between those 2 points though hence my response.

Out of interest how long is your commute and is charging at your weekend place an option?
Depends entirely on my agenda that day. I work in a variety of locations for a number of companies. Trust me I’d like to make an EV work but it just doesn’t at the mo. Can’t charge at Welsh end as parking is not adjacent to the property.

I4 is my steed of choice if ever there was a way

Yep, can be tough if you have inconsistent travel requirements and no abiliy to charge at your destination. The last thing you need in those circumstances is to be worrying about charging, life's too short.
