Chargers - north wales
Discussion
going up to Anglesey for a few days soon and was planning to go in the E Niro - however looking on Zap Map there are only 2 fast chargers in the area that are in service although one is reported to be only charging at 7Kwh and the other is charging £1 per Kw!!!
Anyone got any local knowledge?
Might have to be in the Z4 then!!!

on anglesey at the moment. i can confirm the ecotricity charger on a55 is totally buggered and looks like it has been for a good while. holyhead has a gridserve location by the port which is all good, but i noticed another fast charger in holyhead which doesn't appear on zap map. llangenfni has an advertised unit at lidl which is showing as working again, but apparently there are 2 more fast chargers in the town which aren't on Zapmap. Anyone got any local knowledge?

i use the non sub version, so maybe they show on the paid one? but the free version of zap map isn't apparently bang up to date.
we rented a place via vrbo and asked the owner if we were ok to use a 3 pin charger to charge up while here. he told us the kWh rate and we're leaving cash to cover what was used.

Many thanks - must admit Ive not asked about charging at the place we are staying
filling up with petrol does seem so much easier and far less stress!!!
fair dos. if i'd been back in my TVR days and not had 3 labradors i'm sure we'd have chosen a shouty 2 seater over an electric vauxhall combo e-life to do the journey!filling up with petrol does seem so much easier and far less stress!!!
I live on Anglesey and while I do not have an EV, I can safely say that charging points are pretty thin on the ground. I can't think of a major service station with them in all honesty, but I may be proven wrong. The Z4 really is the sensible answer. Especially if you are heading towards Snowdonia and the amazing roads we have around there.
We live on Anglesey too and it does seem that public chargers are few and far between. I do recall a news item from a couple of months ago regarding the install of some new charging stations though: https://www.anglesey.gov.wales/en/newsroom/news/ne...
