Apologies to the owners of the Ford GT & Ferrari 360 who probably thought we were taking a short cut to get back to the circuit but in fact we were on a log run (firewood). This mean't they had to reverse about half a mile down a rough track as there was no where to turn round.
No worries Bobo
Le Plod sealed off the entrance to Houx and we just tagged along you guys as we thought you were heading back the same way. Little did we know
Get enough wood then? (Firewood that is )
Enough of all this fancy Dan stuff, how about some of the real big time achievers who took the following to the big weekend?
35C and British engineering from the 70’s and still working!
Hillman Hunter Tiger
Granada Coupe
Chevette HSR
All of which (at least when I saw them) were going like a proverbial train
Hats off to the 'Stumpy Palmer' Zonda as well, it really did seem to be the biggest crowd puller of all down at Arnage on Friday

Thursday afternoon was a bit after going through Alencon. Although proceeding with as much gusto as possible in Blackscooby's Saab Aero cruise liner, we were rudely blown out of the way by a convoy consisting of a Viper, Morgan Aero 8, Tuscan S, S2000 and an Ultima.
Before that we'd been passed by an F40 with a 360 up his derriere.
Very nice
The journey was as much fun as the race!

Erm it could be the McLaren F1 at Houx Annexe roundabout on Friday night - did he spin it?
Maybe the people who turned up next to us in a Lambo Countach with a very small tent!
Maybe it as the F40 that pulled out of a junction up ahead and proceeded to floor it down the road.
Maybe even the sound of a Porsche 356 and a Jag XK10 at full chat flying past on the way home.
But no - it has to be the GT40 which we followed out of Arnage car park in the wee small hours of Saturday morning. The driver was giving it johnny large potatoes all the way back to Arnage village with us following in the traffic

F50 coming into Rouen, gave it a blip in the tunnels for us
Macca F1 heading towards the technopark from Porsche curves
Several Murcielagos and a black Gallardo
In terms of making the best progress the black viper / aero 8 / Focus RS trio were giving it full beans on the way down on Thursday (if you're out there we were the 928 Gemballa / Tamora / Griffith / Alfa convoy)

Maybe not the best spotted but I liked this.
It's a db2/4 with a db3s engine. One of only 40 made in this configuration according to the owner (iirc). This one was the aston martin press shoot car. We were chatting with the owner and he used to race it before restoring it about 5 years ago to it's original state. It's in fantastic condition.
I dug a bit with google and found these pics.
Same car is here in 1955.
and being raced here
