Can't recall exactly how i heard about it but was at some point mentioned by 1st Tickets during the booking process. Cost is £140 for: Pre-erected tent for up to 3 people, including air mattresses, chairs & lantern. Is also a £100 Refundable Damage Waiver Deposit. I do have a fairly decent tent with all the trimmings, but really didn't fancy the hassle of putting it up after such a long journey & trying to remember all the paraphanalia required as well as what's required at Le Mans. This is my 1st visit so wanted to limit the stress factors & spend as much time on the enjoyment (boozing).
That's just not the spirit, you get to miss out on things like the dismal evening I spent last night ticking a million things off my "list" as I packed them up for the trip. Fingers crossed it's dry when we put up the tents. Last time we went 2 years ago we were delayed by migrants in the tunnel, got there late Friday in the pouring rain to put up the tents having missed the pit walk, we were a little grumpy but soon picked up once the alcohol started flowing.

Bit of a hijack to this thread but just wondered if it's possible to walk the circuit on the Friday (aside from the public road bits). If so, is anyone doing it from our site?

Does anyone know what a 'carte 4' pass is ? It's a general entry pass with a '4' in the top right corner - I've had them before and I know that they get you into a little more than a regular pass does but I've never been quite sure exactly what ?

Just thinking does any have an address for the Sat nav direct to the road leading up to the campsite?

Would make it easier than following the Blue signs everywhere!

I believe the road is called Boulevard Des Italiens, that's where my satnav is set to at least.

Make sure you set the right one as there's one in Paris too wink

So is there going to be a big party at some point somewhere amongst the chaos? Or am i missing the point and the whole campsite / event is just a massive party?

I was hoping for a little convoy of some sort but looks like im the only one active who is travelling from up north to Portsmouth wed afternoon frown

i am also kinda hoping when we get into le havre there will be others going to le mans?? as i will stalk them so i find the way there ha
We maybe a little late to see you on the road though will be travelling down from the Midlands (leaving at about 18.00) for the overnighter from....using the A34 & I will be in a 'bleu' Alfa GTV which will be easily identifiable. We will definitely wave if we see you wink
Ah shame... I hope it's the v6 gtv wink

I'll keep an eye out

The party spirit starts as soon as you see the first stickered up cars on the way down....the tunnel terminal will vaporise your spotter's book apart & then in France at every peage/autoroute fuel stop until you get into the inevitable queue nr Le Mans where the windows come down again & the banter continues yet again. Remember the Friday Service too. Oh, & make sure you stop after a peage to watch the orchestra exercising the variety of noise they can make yesyesyes

Entrance to Bleu Nord campsite is at the junction of Route de la Heronniere and D139 (which is Bld des Italiens).

Being a Le Mans 1st timer, what's people's advice on where's best to socialise and enjoy car banter on Mad Friday but without the having to deal with pissed up chavs ?

(Wife posted this as worrying too much)

3rd year in a row for us with 1st Tickets. Pitch number E42X (Anyone know where that is / have a pitch map at all?) We've been down in the bottom corner for the last 2 years near those buggers with the sound system on wheels in general parking so hoping to be further away this year!

Will be coming in a Boxster and hire car for lugging stuff which we'll probably put in general parking so as not to lower the tone too much! Don't think I got any beer tokens in our pack but the last 2 years they were given out on arrival by the chap who shows you to your pitch.

See you all on Thursday!

There is a map from 2012 on http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

We take earplugs to drown out the campsite noise at night..

apparently the Great British Welcome is good to go to - didn't go on my trip last yr (first time & slightly disorganised) though will be going this yr. Also PH Friday service & then there are other things locally to go to. There are other threads on here on things to do as well as the pitlane walk etc.

PS we are at C34/35 in PH towers....only 4 'sleeps' left till we head south biggrin
