the site was good on the whole and met some good people , apart from the s in the TVR's who decided driving around pissed up would be a good idea then promptly smashed into the Q7. No place for people like that in my books. lucky it was just a car and not a person that got hurt, especially as the Q7 ended up on the tent

Very surprised to see the marquee closed on 24hr night, at 4am we intended to watch a bit on TV like usual with a coffee, very strange and different to other sites.

Now the food.......................... This was a shambles, uncooked , overcooked, unidentifiable, the worlds cheapest ingredients, got to admit i was disgusted that anybody would serve that sort of crap up so left us having to source all our food elsewhere . will be contacting first tickets about this.

but looking forward to 2015, but doubt we'll be as lucky with weather again

We had a great 2014 trip although the food was a topic of daily discussion having been to LM in 2013 with 1st Tickets on the catered option......the beans/bacon at breakfast were amongst the few things we commented on in our group & we did note the Q7 damage & commented as we mooched around & admired everyone's cars (it clearly took the shine off one of your group for the trip) - I suspect Brian may have a few whose names won't be allowed on the camp in future & quite rightly so if he wants to keep the feel of the camp. There was some engine revving onsite of a few cars on Sunday evening & this is also something that we wouldn't expect......no wonder Brian had a few stressful moments! We will give our feedback although it won't stop us from booking for 2015 with 1st Tickets. As paying customers we should seek to voice our genuine observations so that it can be improved for next time.

Just to add the owner of the Q7 showed great restraint and maturity, i have to admit i doubt i would have been so calm and would probably still be in the local police station....lol i do hope it didn't ruin his weekend and was able to get home ok as that was a big knock to move it that far.

Also it did look like a massive missed opportunity for the Pistonheads branding as i don;t think i saw one piece of it on the whole site which was strange.

I saw 2 PH flags attached to the front of the bar....I'd like one if they will sell them to the members - oh, & Mrs C has 'granted consent' already for my 2015 trip thumbup

I did not see the Q7 thing, pretty poor show by whoever drove into it.

On the whole I thought it was very well done. We were not there last year but did take some catering in 2012. I thought the food was not quite as good this year but it is mass catering at a price and I did not have to source it, cook it or wash up after it so I was pretty happy. Amusingly my friend Rob is a butcher and could not work out which bit of the animal that Steak came from;)

I was also pretty pleased that he stuck us in quiet area with people who had brought children.

Anyway I thought it was a pretty sterling effort from Brian and the folks, just emailed and asked to be on the list for next year.

I didn't see the Q7 incident either, but I hope the culprits are black listed in future (for all PH events not just Le Mans camping). One of the reasons we chose this campsite was to avoid this sort of behaviour from the normal campsites.

Food wise, I thought it was OK, we missed Friday night as we went into town for the driver parade & had a nice pizza - easily the best meal of the weekend.

Overall I thought the 1st tickets guys did a good job & I'd go with then again.

It was great to see you all and I'm glad in general everyone had a great time. I did think I was going to be squashed by the stolen AMR buggy being driven by the spineless idiots outside that smashed into the jag then dispersed into their tents, worst thing is, they seem to be PHers rage hopefully their identities will be found and they will be held accountable as I know their registration and pitch numbers were taken down.

1st time staying in the Pistonheads campsite, was spot on the whole weekend! As already mentioned, the TVR group in my opinion shouldn't be allowed to return. Lucky it wasn't a tent with someone inside!
Will 100% be returning next year
Massive thanks to all the organisers

We thought the trip was amazing. I once again thought 1st Tickets were fantastic. What they build and deliver in what is basically a field is not an easy undertaking and shouldn't be under rated in it's complexity. I'd rate them a 9/10. They only lost a mark over the feedback on the beans and that there is always room to improve on ones glamping, enough is never enough wink

Our neighbors were all fantastic and I met some really nice folk around the site. The guys with the crazy drone that crashed into our gazebo were also good fun. That drone was awesome, please supply a link to where I can get one.

I look forward to seeing you all again next year in the fab 1st Tickets site smile

Best. Weekend. Ever.

Proper immense, and that's the best LM I've ever been to. Well organised, great facilities (although I'm not sure what some of the meat was!), but best of all was the company. I was on my own but never felt like it, thanks to my neighbours being such a superb bunch of blokes beer

Count me in for next year, for sure.
I concur - it was a fantastic experience and one I hope to repeat! The best night for me was Sunday, when I finally convinced my group (Prescott team) to socialise, and we found ourselves at your pitch poring over the Porsches and the Alfa. The subsequent discussion, banter and life advice was hilarious, and (as I said at the time) the generosity in letting us start and rev up your cars is the kind of thing that makes the PH world go round smile

I hope to see you all again in future years!

Would this be the TVR group who were doing burnouts in the blue Cerbera and having a rev-off late at night? At the time, I thought they were a nuisance, but on the ferry home Eybic showed me some photos of the substantial damage they had done to some bloke's new XF after piling the stolen golf buggy into it. Disgusting behaviour, that also reflects badly on the rest of us. God know what the AMR team must think of PH... and did they get their buggy back?
Eybic - will you be passing their details onto the Gendarmerie for theft, vandalism and leaving the scene of an accident? I'd love to see them extradited and charged.....

I too was disappointed to find the marquee shut overnight during the race. I stumbled back on foot from the Dunlop curves at 6am, freezing cold and dog tired, expecting to be able to warm up with a coffee whilst being able to keep a track of things on TV - only to have to stand around for an hour until it opened for breakfast sitting. This has got to be one of the low points for me in terms of the weekend.

I must disagree wholeheartedly on the food. I thought it was great to have fresh eggs, bacon and sausage etc each morning, and I certainly had no problem identifying the ribs, steak, chicken etc for dinner. I dont know what 3-Michelin-starred masterpiece you were expecting to be made in a marquee in a field, but I've had worse breakfasts in some Marriott hotels (barring the beans, I'll agree they were poor). I thought everything was cooked just fine, too - eggs had runny centres, and the burgers and steak werent raw in the middle.
It certainly infinitely beats attempting to cremate something on a camp stove or paying £5,000 for something at LM-special prices from a burger van.

I thought the beans were fine, less salty and sugary than Heinz though, and steak should be raw in the middle.

Pistonheads - beans matter..

The campsite was a luxury compared to what we had in Houx and Houx Annex in previous years. However some of the food was terrible ie the beans and steak and we were gutted that the marquee was closed during the night of the race for the same reasons as above. We got back late and we're gagging for a cup of hot tea.
That said however it was better than trying to cook st in the morning with a camping stove or living off burgers etc for 5 days.

It's disgusting that fellow PHers would damage someone else's car and then run without sorting it. I hope they're found!

Great to meet you both & also Chemicalchaos's mates...... a great way to enjoy your 1st PH Le Mans. I'm happy I could educate a few more people in value for money Alfa GTV ownership! My car continues to amuse/make people smile as witnessed in the queue for Border Control at Portsmouth amongst some very serious petrol power (including an AM Vantage 600). See you both in 2015 unless I can make the odd PHSS wavey MrC

Hello! I was the chap having a massive crisis when you showed me the Alfa wink first thing I looked up when I got home was other GTV6's for sale and then the insurance - the latter being the only thing putting me off getting one now frown

Again, thank you for being showing us round the cars, and making the evening so enjoyable thumbup

RobbyJ it was good to meet you, we were parked next door with the Range Rover and Carlos Sainz. It was good to see the Red Lancia HF 4x4, somewhat overshadowed by the later Integrale's but a lovely example of an old rally special. some top cars on the campsite and mostly friendly fellow PH'ers.

We missed all of the TVR idiot actions. Everyone that we met and spoke to were helpful and good conversation/company, did see one aggressive idiot threaten a guy for daring to move a chair ! Knob.

The food on the whole was pretty good I thought, the only iffy meal was Sunday nights Steak, though I am not convinced it was even that!

The crew were brilliant and worked like Trojans.

We would not hesitate to book with Brian again.

All in all a great experience.

The 3 GT3 RS the picture were awesome !!!

My first Le mans and enjoyed every moment of it.

Nice site, good location, fantastic weather, friendly neighbours, clean facilities, great staff and I didn't have to cook.
Bar one cold breakfast I don't think the food was bad. Could definitely be bettered but certainly have nothing to complain about.

Sorry to hear about the incidents. Shame some had to spoil it. I did see the Jag as I was leaving and thought it had been scraped down the side of something. Didn't for a second thing that someone had done it and even worse not faced up to it.

At least you will find the culprit and you know he is not penniless so hopefully you will be made whole.

Back in the office, sadly.

It was brilliant, we'll be back for PHLM15.

you drove past us a few times while we were on a late night excursion walking past the stadium, that was a nicely controlled drift round the roundabout in the orange GT3rs : )

So sorry to hear that fella & the incident with the Q7. We saw the TVR's displaying such eloquent Show Plates as they returned to the PH site (no doubt disguising their actual plates) & a few mins later had collided with the Q7 (although we only heard about this later). Hadn't heard anything about the Jag incident until seeing the damaged golf cart on Monday morning.

Boils my piss that a small minority of mindless thugs can spoil what is an amazing event with such potentially grave consequences. Let's hope they get what they deserve.
