Sorry chaps, I can't get any more done in time.

The last batch will arrive on Friday for those that ordered last week. If my numbers are correct then I'll have a few of each size left over but that will be it.

If I could, I would.

First on the list for a spare XL then....

Fred

If you could see your way clear to a couple of T-Shirts prior to LeMans our family would be eternally grateful as LeMans is our family name. One XL and one Small, should do it, many thanks;

My ancestral history goes back to the 11th century and the fact that my distant relative, uncle Sarthe was principal in the development of the region of Maine of which LeMans is the principal city and for many years worked as a ferryboat man on what was the only river crossing available, consequently they named the Sarthe River after him.

At that time the struggle for control between the dukes of Normandy and uncle Sarthe’s despicable and bloodthirsty second cousin Rose, one of the many counts and countesses of Anjou, lead to the spilling of much Norman blood, so much so in fact they distastefully named a local vintage after cousin Rose in memory of the wine’s pink/red colour, who was known at the time as ‘Rose of Anjou’ or indeed the latter known vintage in France ‘Rose d’ Anjou’.

Unfortunately for cousin Rose the Norman dukes had a brief moment of glory and drove the counts of Anjou out of Maine, this in turn allowed William the Conqueror to successfully invade England and here within lies the unusual twist of fate. Uncle Sarthe, well known and respected, by then had little loyalty to the French court and through an uneasy alliance with England and the then Anglo Saxons and in an attempt to overthrow William the Conqueror, directed a citizens revolt in expelling the Normans out of Maine and back across the river from whence they came. For this great triumph even reached the courts of England, if not somewhat confused as the then Anglo Saxons later descendant to our beloved Cockneys, got it all wrong in translation believing the French citizens of Maine had driven the Normans south due to the constant French triumphant heralding cry of ‘Sarthe of the River’…‘Sarthe of the River’…or in their naïve understanding ‘South of the River’. Of course this was not the case and the Normans went home, with Hugh V then being proclaimed count of Maine.

Although my family cannot claim relation to Hugh V, we can say at least that it was Hugh’s bold statement from the newly constructed ‘Bridge over the river Sarthe’, to my dear departed distant uncle after his great victory… “You de Man” or of course “Vous Le Homme”. So happy was Hugh V with my uncle’s triumphant expellation of the Normans that he named the City after him and in recognition of the alliance with England he chose to mix the languages with “Vous Le - Man” or of course “You the Man”. At this time unfortunately and with much disgrace, my uncle shagged a dignitaries daughter and having a bastard son didn’t want him to bare his name and disgrace our family further, so he naturally chose the name of ‘Vous Le Mans’ for his new blood line.

Later by the 12th century the word ‘Vous’ was dropped through the usual dialect slang of Maine and we are left today with both the city name and indeed my family surname – LeMans, remembering that the French stick an ‘s’ on the end of everything – inferiority complex we think!

There is of course one last twist - Clearly in the blood, my great grandmother whilst still in her youth was banished to Ireland to bear her own illegitimate child and not wishing to disgrace our great heritage, took the surname of Redden, both Irish to blend with the local community and in remembrance of our great long lost aunt Rose and her red coloured wine. We have never, however, forgotten our grand heritage ‘The Reddens of LeMans’ - The rest is history!

Alternatively Fred – just give us two dam T-Shirts! ….LoL

Sir, you truly are a motoring deity! My order for fat git size T has been placed and to celebrate I’ve even bought a badge for the new car when I can get it.

Somehow you also seem to have instilled a feeling of security in me that these will get to the delivery address, rather than the billing one, so my mate can bring them out to me on Wednesday as I’m leaving for lemon at sparrow fart on Monday, unlike so many other on-line shops, who get it wrong time and again

Top marks to the Worldpay thingy too. Very moron friendly, thankfully! I have a nasty feeling my bank balance is going to suffer at the hands of your shop on more than a few occasions over the next few years…
