Not a problem. Didn't expect one really. And only 3 tanks of diesel from Dublin, via the tunnel to Le Mans and back again. Not bad, I think.

Sorry to hear about the breakdowns, must've been a real pain.

Didnt miss a beat, No heating issues that may have cropped up in the very hot weather and long queues at places. Had a great Blast there and back too.

The quattro was perfect all the way - even in the queues and staggering heat on the way back. It didn't stop me getting a teensy bit worried when the oil temp sat at 130 degrees when stationary and the fan hardly seemed to stop whirring while trying to get off the peage at Alencon (sp?), though...

My 944S didn't miss a beat, rarely went go below 115mph between Caen and Cherborg to make the ferry due to traffic jams on Monday.

Great four days, even with the heat

No mechanical difficulties - well with the exception of the pod ceasing to work in the high temp so I didn't have any idea of my oil/water temps, oh and burning my left hand on the red hot gear stick and then for the second time a couple of minutes later on the even hotter hand brake. My problems were with stupidly long/high kerbs around the petrol pumps over there - 2 knackered alloys and a very nice racing stripe down the passenger side. Then catching a speed bump at calais ferry port at the wrong angle that damaged my right end can only for it to then give up the ghost about 40 miles from Dover. I may have been spotted on the M25/M4/M5 going v slow with black maskers plastered around my rear end.

Can't wait till next year!

Car did us proud, all temps stayed at 40% or below despite speed.
Unlike ourselves as cabin temp was around 45-50C for most of the trip home.

My Westfield coped well with only a bit of bodywork damage getting off the Cat in Caen on Friday morning and hitting the ramp.Did anyone see 'le law 'taking piccies of all the cars coming off the ferry? Almost had a 911 hit me side on on the Caen pirifique,as 2 lanes of brits only having 500mtrs warning to get off at the next junction. Sitting in a car with no roof for an hour trying to get into Park Blanc was defying the want to live in that heat.Journey home was fantastic, albeit the re-modelling of the tailpipe against the paeage wall,so the wife could grab a ticket.Left at 6am from our campsite and got to Cherbourg for 9am.Nice and misty, giving the chance to keep the engine running happier.Poole was the shite spot of the journey, trying to get out of the port to Bournmouth, due to roadworks took an hour.

The three Jags went pretty well.... The Shaguar did not take to kindly to an extended 145mph run just outside Le Harve, but she cooled down soon enough, She ran fine after we soldered the expansion tank...which turned out to be more like a colinder on further inspection.
The other 2 jags had issues of their own, but nothing that couldn't be sorted. Well pleased with getting all three there and back. The Volvo 850 Support vehicle was very well behaved, even if the driver wasn't(!)

2 Tuscans and 2 996's in our convoy...TVR's kept up with the Porkers in round the twisties (well, nearly) and demonstrated superior straight line speed, even with the roof off.

Problems were thankfully limited to:

Had to fit a gearknob cover (woolly hat + cable tie) to protect my left hand.

Lost all speed readings (analogue, digital and odometer) just before Abbeville on the way down.

Lost my wiper mechanism at high speed on the way back when the wind resistance pushed them up the screen. Don't know exactly how fast I was going, but my change up lights were on and I had run out of gears.

On the tunnel on the way home one of the Porsche drivers in my convoy did admit he honestly didn't think that TVR's could go so far, so fast without problems!

It was so bloody hot that with both a new Fabspeed exhaust and 36 C the number plate glue melted and the plates fell off.

I saw another 993 with the same disorder, who would have thought a Porsche would melt

My Car's still in Gace with a fuel pump /Battery/Cooked coil problem, shame as the car ran well in the temps, it never ran above 92 unless i was chasing a certian Lambo then it was reading a 100 as the air into the fans was super heated anyway......

Had a bonnet pop at 1.5 leptons on the way down chasing the Lambo and Ford GT

Had a few niggles, hot running was an issue for most of the trip, but that was due to a hose getting so hot it fell apart at the seams, literally...

for a car so old (10+ years) i think it kept up a truly remakable performance in the company of our convoy (VXR 220, Maserati, Lambo, M3 CSL, somebig red road blocks (360's) and a Ford GT.)

I was just gutted the Ford Transit motorhome beat the Tiv home

Sorry to hear about people's troubles.

It seems all of the Nobles didn't miss a beat, my M400 performed flawlessly (apart from the slight lack of power from it being 34C ambient! )

Wonder who's that was - I was only going on what's been posted on the Noble forum - so they can't know about that?
