That me me and my freind then in a porsche 997.. 172kph apparently...

Although the pure pleasure in handing over €750 euro's that had individually been wiped on our backsides was priceless.
Thats *very* steep.... three of our group were caught between 151kph and 166kph and we all had 90euro fines. The Gendarmes were all very pleasant and chatty, handed over the money and smiles all round.

The strangest part was the two police bike front/rear 'escort' for the few miles getting to the motorway junction - we were flying past other traffic faster than I'd be clocked (161kph) including a row of 911's now doing exactly 130kph...!

were you in the navy Cerb who tagged along before getting bored with our low speeds? :-)
Lol, yes that was me. Was just suffering from a bit of 'speed creep'. Luckily though, that incident with the BMWs reminded me that I really didn't want to get a ticket, so slowed down from then on. Lovely Tuscan BTW, really liked the colour - sort of pearlescent white/cream - looked good in the sun!

NOt that much police presence this year, apart from the POLITZI Beemer who tried to pull us over about 30 minutes after we'd been done by Les Flics.
If it was us in the 5, sorry man.

Amazing how many people heaved on the anchors when they saw us. Made us laugh

Wasn't you Guy, it was the 3 series beemer. We saw them at the tunnel in the UK so realised it wasn't the real cops pretty quick.

All in all a good trip, apart from the sat nav directing me through the centre of Paris at rush hour yesterday morning!!!!!

Saw a black BMW 6 series and a white 3 series get pulled by 4 Gendarmes on bikes. They went past me pretty fast, I'm guessing 100 - 110mph. Pulled out to 'tag along' and immediately saw the flashing lights in the distance in my mirror. Pulled back in sharpish and was overjoyed when they came past me, eventually escorting the BMWs off the autoroute. Was somewhere between Rouen and Calais.

Yes this was me and a mate i got caught at 120mph got the 750euro and a ban. My mate in the white 1 series got 90 euro as was doing 116mph just below lucky. Put it this way i have learnt my lesson and next year will not be speeding and will have my cruise control set at 80mph. The Gendarmes were nice considering and told us a story from 2 years ago. It was about a black Ferrari 599 that they took!! So we said what do you mean you took. They said they took the brand new car as the fine!! As he was doing in access of 160mph and the fine for this is limit less!

I was quite surprised by the lack of Le Plod, i've not driven down for about 5 years, but last time I did they were every where with queues of sports cars at the cash machines and big plastic bags with driving licences..

We saw a black 911 and another car pulled in to a side road off the auto route on the way to abbeville. quite handy as it would have been embarrasing to get a ticket in a td5 disco complete with roof tent !! and sat at 85-90 for most of the trip..

well other than the monster traffic jam on the run into calais / dunkerque.

The fines seem very variable as usuall. Last time I got nicked on a Le Mans run it cost me 500ff ( the fact it was francs tells you it was a while ago <LOL>) for 217kph... apparently even then i was very lucky to get the basic fine. I think the fact i didnt have any doc's, and had to empty the boot to find my passport that helped, Oh and the look of dismay on the coppers face when a pair of diablos went past at well over 180mph..

I got clocked at 200kph and had to fork out 750 euros and then they took my license. Apparently have to go to court in Dieppe in September! Anyone know the form? Do they ban you or can they fine you again?

IIRC the 750euro's is a deposit to make sure you turn up in court. The actual fine can be less or more depending what the court say... although on the basis they've got your 750euros I doubt you'll be getting a refund....

Did anyone see the White/Red GT3RS pulled over on the way down?

I was chatting to the bloke at the services, and he warned me about speeding, but I had said I was not going to be doing it as have learnt before. Next toll, he came blaring out and we were all cheering, only to see him pulled over 10 mins further down the road.

I got caught doing 230Kph on the way back - 750 Euros, car confiscated until September court hearing - BUT i'm only banned at the moment for 72 hours from the offence so i'll still be able to go down to LM classic next month - (muted) win.

In a slightly slower car of course.

So the 750 isnt the end of it you then have to attend a court hearing in france? Because my old man got a 6 month ban from drivingin france plus the 750 fine, does that mean he will have to attend the court?

was that in a black carrera S on the A16 today between Rouen and Abbeville?
I saw this too, it was a Black 997 S. In all fairness, who ever that was I should probably thank them as it would have been me if they weren't already busy.

My wingman got an 80 euro fine for doing 76 instead of 70 just out of Arnage returning from MacDonalds at 1130pm and one of my friends picked up a 80 Euro for doing 176km on the A28.

People do seem to be slowing down year on year though as the risk increases. Without wanting to sound all billy big bks there literally wasn't one car that past us on the way back up to Dunkirque.

I was playing with a chap out of Le Mans in a new grey Cupra R. I let him through thinking that 130mph wasn't an acceptable pace to set for 300 miles and saw him being spoken to about 2 miles up the road, that must have been a 750.

Did your dad get his car back? They impounded mine - at a cost of 5 Euros a day - until September . I have to attend a police hearing in September where i'll get the car back apparently - after paying more coin i expect.

So if your dad has his car still I guess he's cool, if they have the car i guess he will have to attend court.

BTW saw your post on the other thread I also got caught in that trap near Sees. Can't complain really I was speeding in their country, I got caught plain and simple - to their credit the police were VERY cool about it yesterday - no reading the riot act, no trying to make me feel worse than I did - very professional.

You might be lucky the entire fine and storage charge may add up conveniently to €750.

The 750 was a deposit. They will have the court hearing and write to you with the outcome, which is likely to be a 750 EUR fine.

I know someone who was stopped and made to pay a 500 fine / deposit. It went to court and they decided the punishment was 750 so he had to send another 250. The initial response was "not bloody likely", but after looking into it found that they keep it on record, add (compounding) interest to it and one day when he visits France they will pull him to one side and make him pay. He paid it.
