We missed all of the TVR idiot actions. Everyone that we met and spoke to were helpful and good conversation/company, did see one aggressive idiot threaten a guy for daring to move a chair ! Knob.
Was this at the Sunday breakfast serving? If so, I was also wondering what the guys major malfunction was.

The food wasn't a high point for me either, but it hasn't stopped me sending off my deposit for next year this morning. Brian and his team did an excellent job, especially for our group as we managed to turn up a day early (might have been my fault for not reading any of the paperwork) and managing to organise another camping pass and entry ticket on the Friday before the camp opened for our friend who made the journey over from Atlanta at the last minute.

I wish we had been able to stay the Sunday night, but unfortunately I had work today, so we left on Sunday directly after the race for the drive back to Glasgow.

The bar area was very good and we frequented it regularly, taking advantage of the man maths involved in purchasing the jugs of lager. Everyone we spoke to was very friendly, despite how ruthless you had to be to get a charging point by the weekend! I also liked the security of the private campsite, it made you feel much more at ease that you didn't have to worry about people entering your tent when you weren't there - as happened to us during the start of the race last year.

I never saw any of the shenanigans with the TVRs and it's a shame that a few idiots had to spoil it.

We are all looking forward to next year though and praying for the same weather again!

We were sitting nearby and basically what happened was that they were all sitting there for a couple of hours like us and then when their food time came half the table went up for food whilst he sat to keep the table for them. Another chap came along and wanted the chair and the first guy tried to tell him that his group were just up getting food and that they were coming back to the table. The second guy still tried to sit down so the first guy grabbed the chair from him. About 30 seconds later the rest of his table came back and sat down.

The Tvr which crashed into the Audi was green, not silver, and as far as i know was dealt with at the scene. The silver tvr that had been stopped on the road on mad friday, where this youtube video is from, was not chased by security and didnt have anything to do with the Jag incident. The owner has contacted the jag owner and given witness statement.

The problem with having a easily identifiable car, is it will get identified easily.
i know that, i witnessed the audi accident.

And yes that silver TVR was chased by Security as Security were the ones who slapped his bonnet and tried to stop him doing the burnout in front of Bleue Nord entrance. he then drove at the security in the orange jackets and then blasted past the Beige clothed security guys on the campsite entrance and flew up to the campsite at high speed with the security guys running after him on the radios. This was Friday about 4 o clock.

In 15 years at Le mans i have seen some silly things, but this was high on the list of stupid things.

Absolutely gutted to hear of the damage to the Q7 and the XF frown Our group did notice the damage on the Q7, but weren't aware of the cause frown

Bad stuff out of the way, our group had an absolutely fantastic time. We didn't socialise as much as I'd have liked, but we ended up spending more time off of site than we'd planned. However, the guys next door (Black Maserati Granturismo) were great company, my apologies for not catching you before we left on Monday morning!

Food was good. Anything that means we didn't have to cook is a good thing for our health, and those having to suffer around us. WiFi was also great, but it didn't allow more than one connection per pitch, so none of our group were able to have internet access at the same time (1st world problems etc.).

This was my 3rd time at Le Mans, and easily the most enjoyable. The peace of mind given by the 24h security was justified the cost on it's own IMO, the food, WiFi, and cold beer were bonuses!

Either way, I definitely wish to return next year, thank you very much to Brian and the team, as well as the other PH'ers who made it a thoroughly enjoyable weekend thumbup

you drove past us a few times while we were on a late night excursion walking past the stadium, that was a nicely controlled drift round the roundabout in the orange GT3rs : )
Thanks, always difficult to resist during LM when the roundabouts are deserted. Given most gestures we received were friendly, I assume we didn't offend anyone.

We thought the trip was amazing. I once again thought 1st Tickets were fantastic. What they build and deliver in what is basically a field is not an easy undertaking and shouldn't be under rated in it's complexity. I'd rate them a 9/10. They only lost a mark over the feedback on the beans and that there is always room to improve on ones glamping, enough is never enough wink

Our neighbors were all fantastic and I met some really nice folk around the site. The guys with the crazy drone that crashed into our gazebo were also good fun. That drone was awesome, please supply a link to where I can get one.

I look forward to seeing you all again next year in the fab 1st Tickets site smile

We enjoyed ourselves, took the food option this time as Brian convinced me that they had things right, our 2012 experience put me off off at first. I think they did a good job all in all, the beans were... different... but, I don't like traditional baked beans anyway smile I think the breakfast was good, not greasy, couple of the dinners were suspicious though. I would take the meals again, beats having to source, cook and wash up when there are more important things to be doing.

The camp was good and we will be back, would never go in the masses again, far too uncivillised smile

And the weather...phew

If only the 919's had made it then...

Our mini review...

It was mine and my wife first time to Le Mans. A belated honey moon almost, don't worry am not completely selfish I managed to tie it in with a 2 week trip to the south of France ...
We thought the campsite was thoroughly friendly, not one person was ignorant in any way what ever there wealth, motor etc.
We travelled down in the Tuscan 2 S alone, which was a superb car for the trip may I add. Got to site Thursday afternoon and immediately made good friends with the guys in the S4 who were ruining peoples privacy via the video copter you may have seen fly around haha (great bit of kit)
Food wise I was disappointed with the burger being the best of the lot but I can appreciate the difficulites...
Security I thought was great apart from the lass who had her eyes shut everytime we entered the gat (nightshift)
I'm all for the revving of cars as I love them all, but to attempt a burn out on the grass going over rubble filled potholes in close proximity of tents was an abortion WTF. Low and behold control was lost and luckily there was a 2 ton car in the way of a tent that was shifted 2-3ft in direction of the tent. But I do feel sorry for the q7 owner, I also heard of a witness the guy in the cerbera showed little remorse and actually said "it's only a bumper" I won't say anymore on the matter as I wasn't a witness but am a TVR owner and hope I don't get the bad press many are on these recent threads.
Wifi was great better than expected.

Anyway the wife is tutting away so I must get back to the wine...

My review:

I came as part of the group of lads in the pair of 'Team Prescott' Jags on pitches E30 and E31. For all six of us it was our first time to LM.

The location was perfect - a five minute walk from the start/finish straight, and a walkable distance from the Dunlop curves as well as the Friday Service field and the Mad Friday roundabout.

The pitch itself was flat and grassy. Sounds obvious, but I've been to campsites lacking in one or both of these before!

I think we all appreciated the peace of mind from the security. On the first day I forgot to close a window on my car while I went off, leaving my sat-nav, phone and euros out on display. Nothing was taken but I'm not sure we'd have been so lucky in a public area! However on one occasion a non-PH site resident was allowed through the gate without being checked for a wristband, which did highlight a breach of security.

Food was another plus point. As other posters have said this wasn't Michelin star quality, but this was far outweighed by the convenience of not having to think about cooking and washing up.

Wash facilities were good, clean and hygienic. There were queues for the showers at peak AM times but we tended to get up a bit later and avoided these.

We were slightly miffed about only getting one wifi code per pitch. Being a group of web-addicted 19-22 year olds we often wanted to use the wifi at the same time (face to face socialising is so 2002). Having said that, once online it was useably quick.

We left it until Sunday before making much attempt to socialise with other PHers, but when we did we wished we'd got to know our neighbours sooner. Cheers to MrC986, Ekona and the rest for a very entertaining night!

All in all, I'd be more than happy to come back to the PH site, and I think the premium price (vs public camping) was justified by how smoothly the package let our inaugural LM trip go.

Just realised i quoted the Youtube clip in my post & thus may have appeared I was suggesting the Silver TVR was the car involved in the Q7 incident. I did not intend to give that impression, merely that I believed the Silver TVR was with the group of TVR's that included the TVR that crashed into the Q7.

Is that pic from the drone, if so that's awesome smile The video of it crashing into the gazebo would be pretty funny although the look of horror on my and your mates face would probably have been a better picture, we thought it was broken for sure smile

First time on Brians pitch and it was a bit mixed, security and the fences were great to have since it removes the risk of lost gear, staff were excellent and very helpful though Brian was not overly happy most of the time and despite us buying ticket from him for ten years wasn't even that bother about putting names and faces together but no biggie. The beer/troughing tent was great especially on the blazing days. The food was shocking, I heard people saying that maybe it was due to numbers but TBH we have catered for as many people on venues and would not consider knocking out the scoff served up. The beans were amazingly pants but again, having lived in Belgium/France you can get Heinz but they are a lot more expensive. Met some great blokes from beer mountain and another altercation with Brain over one of the lads letting someone drive in a 30ft circle in the camp (no tents or cars or Q7s since no people had not arrived at that end of the camp. I dont know if there was history there or not but his reaction was quite draconian considering the "crime". Anyway, I can see why Brian was a bit tense since there lots to be done, the other chap whose name I didn't catch was wearing a bandanna was really helpful and approachable so alls well that ends well. The only other bad bit was being quite a distance from everywhere else, ideal for the stands and blanc but a bit of a trek for other locations (not all of us are quite as mobile. A good experience on the site, some great cars and nice to chat to the owners, big Hi to the Beer mountain guy and gals.

All in all, a good LM this year, different vibe for sure, but we got to see a lot of racing, went into town and had some very nice food and after a trip to the U for provisions most of our food woes were resolved. One final comment, the boys and girls that were working in the scoff tent/bar and on security were absolutely ace, friendly approachable and helpful.
