My first Le Mans this year, cannot wait! Need to travel alone though, work wouldnt let me go a few days early!... however meeting up with a few guys who are driving down tomorrow.
I need to get the TGV train from Charles de Gaulle, then I think the tram is the best way to the circuit from Le Mans train station.
Anyone else done this route before and is it pretty straight forward?
Very straightforward and clearly signedI need to get the TGV train from Charles de Gaulle, then I think the tram is the best way to the circuit from Le Mans train station.

Very easy, have done it before. I need to get the TGV train from Charles de Gaulle, then I think the tram is the best way to the circuit from Le Mans train station.

Biggest pain is getting across Paris from CdG to Montparnasse (sp?) and making sure you don't snooze on the train and miss the Le Mans stop. Tram stop is right outside the station, you need to buy a ticket at the machine before you get on, takes about 20 minutes straight to the circuit.

Le Mans weather video forecast.
At last it looks like a dry weekend.
Last up date on Wednesday I am sure some of you lucky ones will already be there

It's my first trip and until yesterday I wasn't particularly excited but am now I can't wait to arrive at PH Towers at 0600 on Thursday to fill the RR with our stuff and head to Dover.
Is anyone else on the 0825 ferry from Dover to Calais?

Couldn't be more excited now! Can somebody volunteer to sticker up my car at Folkestone? I'm too scared I'll get it wrong. I struggle putting stickers in books, let alone on my paintwork.
^ I'm sure if you have a water sprayer with a water/washing up fluid mix in it, & some clean microfibre cloths with you, you'll get plenty of help if you ask - unfortunately I'm on the Portsmouth ferry otherwise would gladly assist. Last year we saw one group of guys stickering up a friends care whilst he was a sleep at a certain budget hotel nr Folkestone......eybic said:

On the same crossing - priorite loading so hopefully the tvr will be at the front somewhere so I can spray you all with petrol fumes as we quietly drive off :0) Is anyone else on the 0825 ferry from Dover to Calais?

Unfortunately not, we're leaving at 4am to get the 6am train! I'll make an attempt myself, if you see a ford focus and think 'awful sticker job', that's me. Some nice short films about Le Mans here - especially the Derek Bell & Allan McNish ones (scroll down the page to click on these)

My planning this year (like every year for the past few years) :
(i) Subscribe to Eurosport for 1 month.
(ii) buy lots of cheap french-style bier from Tesco (the little dumpy bottles).
(iii) buy sausages and bacon for le-fry-up.
(iv) reserve the sofabed for 24 hours.
(v) as soon as the race starts, declare that "I'm definitely going to go next year", then fail to plan for the remaining 12 months
If it's a particularly nice weekend, I might even have a barbeque and sit out in the garden with the laptop
Enjoy your trip guys, whatever the colour of your sausages are....
