I managed to go one step further, not only is she coming along but she is bringing a friend and paying for the ferry!

Now you're just showing off . Poor Battlecat (the origional poster) is in a moral dilemma and all you can do is rub it in .

Not read the whole thread here, but I made the decision today that I am going to Le Mans next year which bought me onto the Girlfreind issue and how to break it to her.....

Initial thought was to invite her but that was instantly over ruled - by myself - she likes her sleep too much and if I invited her she wouldn't want to camp which in my eyes is half the point of going!

So I will sit her down tonight tell her the news that I have decided to buy a new kitchen for the house then drop in "oh and by the way I'm going to Lemans next year!".

If I'm still alive tomorrow I'll let you know how I get on

Jesus. Modern man eh?

Just tell her going bollox to the new kitchen. You shouldnt need permission to go anywhere in an equal relationship. I go to Le Mans with my mates end of story. My other half goes off shopping in Dubai doesn't "ask permission" and I don't have an issue with that either. Its called equality.

On top of all that women dont belong at Le Mans unless they are wearing a hawaian tropic outfit or getting their baps and kebabs out in the gone but never forgotten mucky lady tent. end of.

IMHO experience it all depends on the bird.

If you know she isnt going to like it then deffo dont take her. If she wants to go, then spell out exactly whats involved & if you think she will moan & complain then please leave your whining b*tch at home.

My Mrs fancied going this year (2005) and personally I'm glad she did, she loved every single minute of it, never complained once, mixed in with everyone, held her own in the drinking stakes and did more work around the campsite than a lot of the blokes in our party.

This despite the fact that she is the sort of laydee that wont go in the shed because there might be spiders and was seriously worried about the sh*tters......

Having said all that, I can also see Flashers point of view.

Well I'm still alive, her exact words were "do what you want" so I took that as a positive YES and didn't say much more!

The Kitchen is something that needs doing and I was going to do anyway!

Take her with. If she likes it, she's a keeper. If not, enjoy her, then throw her back and look for a better one.

My wife goes to every race with me (though we've not been across the pond to LeMans....yet). She loves it, and it's way more fun for me to go with her.

At the end of the day if you have to be asking the question...

dont take her.

If you really wanted (and she did too) her to go, you wouldnt need to ask.

Leave her at home

I'm not sure this one works, the female we got landed with who was a pain the ar$e last year really wanted to go - she just hadn't understood what it was all about although she'd been told at length what it all involved!

That in a way is my point if they dont know much about it etc... they cant really want to go that much as otherwise they would have found it....

and then you would know how much they would wanna go.

June is just toooo far away!!!

It will be next year
But it'll be a few hundred miles further south and involve a lot more strippers and a lot less cars
