This year we are doing it in Minis, 1500 miles in a mini should be fun

Not sure who is more of a masochist, you in your Mini's or me in the Ultima!

At least I have aircon!

Toured Wales and Scotland in the early 80s in my everyday 1100 clubman. Didn't get anywhere near 1500 miles though. Good luck.
I think we need it ha ha! I think we will be wishing I used the Cerbera again.

There are 4 of us this time,( no women allowed as she moaned about the camping last time) my mate in my mini a 1275 spi and a cooper mpi as well, it will be an adventure.

Loved seeing your vixen 2 years ago.

Cheers

Scotty.

Struggling to see the condenser on those fans!!!

At least you can open a window though. Not an option on the Ultima frown

Paul

BTW. My first car was a Mini 850 in 1974 and then a Mini 1000 in 1976.....

My recently restored / rebuilt Porsche 911 1972 2.4 S LHD. I've owned it since 1988 and did over 1oo Rallies, hillclimbs and Races in it, even one pertol economy run. Huge accident on the West Cork Rally in 2000 , car laid to rest from then to 2012 , then to Ninemeister for some TLC.

I'll be at the Porsche Club Ireland Camp with Travel Destinations, also going to La Charte Sur Loir and Hotel de France on the Friday.

Very true I never even considered not being able to open the window on one!

I am a TVR man at heart but the 3 guys I am going with are mini fanatics and the reason I own one now. I have to admit they are great fun.

That gives me a thought for 2018 - and a target! Will have to be a classic then as I'm missing out again this time on appropriate transport.

I also own a Cerbera 4.5, but she needs a chassis refurbishment so is becoming a 'barn find' at the moment.

Paul

PS. She also feels slow compared to the Ultima biggrin

Brilliant stuff, my friend travelled to the 24hrs back in 2006 in a mini from Caithness!!! wheel bearing failure 20 miles from Le Mans meant the whole weekend was spent repairing but lots of friendly locals sourced us spares and garage use over the weekend. Happy days.

My first time, I'm solo and also first time camping!

If anyone is on the same/similar timing as me I'd love to convoy down.

I'll be there in this.

6th Le Mans. The only time i've taken a proper car was my E-Type 2 years ago - to the 24hrs. It got 100 miles into France before the clutch master cylinder popped. I proceeded in a Citroen hire car, the Jag remained in France for 4 weeks and was returned with a dent in the bonnet.

This time it's the family Honda. No charismatic drive down, but I do get to take the wife, a 5 year old car-mad boy and a weeks worth of camping kit and supplies. Guess it's a fair compromise.

Nice drive down... one day.

If the weather continues like today's storm - again - you'll be better off with 4WD Land Rovers, really you will. After the 24 Hours the camp sites are really churned up in places, as is the infield where we parked during the race. Keep hoping that the current local forecast holds good.

We'll be in a bright yellow T reg MG B roadster coming down from Scotland to Hull on the Thursday and then the ferry to Zeebrugge for Friday morning. Hope the weather's good - it's not pleasant with the hood up!

Not so good, however the long range forecast is looking decent so I will stay pragmatic and go on that. cool
