I was watched by two bike cops doing 100 in an 80 and they didn't do anything. Maybe I just got lucky, or maybe they don't get out of bed for less than 750 euros and a license.
The people I saw getting stopped on the 1 lane road near lemans (n138?) were all complete tts overtaking on solid lines. If you are going to be that dumb, its hard to find sympathy!
Im hoping that was us that you saw being pulled.
While some of our number were making donations to the local Champagne fund, we stopped had a picnic, put our tents up, had a doze, and packed up again before those we had overtaken came past.
We looked closely for the Skegness over 80's motorized scooter club but it was dark by the time we were passed :-))

lol
I was making more than adequate progress, however most would admit that overtaking on a solid line with 2 policeman stood at the top of the hill was pretty dumb
Hope you enjoyed your picnic, and I'm sure the lightening of your wallets futher improved your power to weight ratio and thus pace after lunch!

Our route was along 'A' & 'B' roads, via Liseux for a stop off in a B&B.. awesome empty roads, great avg. speed and not much longer than the autoroute in time!
We went via Liseux from Gace too and then up to Honfleur for B&B. Very quiet, no speed traps after getting of the n138, all good

Nope we just went faster to keep the average speed above 130.

How much did they tax you for crossing the line or were you done for speeding at the same time?
I feel bad for laughing at whoever was pulled over now I just knew that they were really hot on the line crossing thing.

Set off a static speed camera on the way down, was following an Integra when we came across this funny black box thing at the side of the road. It flashed just as the Integra was passing. Assumed that was it flashing at me when it went off again just as I passed it. Blinding white flash at point blank range into your eyes can be a tad disconcerting.
Damn, we tried our best to set off all the statics, in France and England, but not one of them flashed . We got 6 last year going to Goodwood.
Our convoy only saw one trap - on the way down, just outside Abbeville.
We were doing about 170kmh at the time and were gestured at to slow down, but no problems a few minutes later at the tolls.
Shortly after that my speedo gave up, so quite handy I didn't run into any other traps. Especially as I had a rather confusing moment with my change up lights coming on when already in 5th!
Journey back was speed trap free too, but largely because we took a cross country route to avoid all the jams.

One of our group had to leave early on sunday, mid afternoon. They rang us ater to say they stopped counting the cops between Le Mans and Rouen after they got past 100
We left early Monday and didn't see a single cop the whole way back to Calais.
My mate in his Murcielago got pulled over and breathalised on the way out of the circuit on Saturday. fortunately he'd been a good boy.

DanH,
We were all fined 90 Euros for crossing the line; the police were a great bunch of chaps. They were having a laugh with us all (as they took our money !!) and then posed for photographs and talked cars. Imagine the reception we would have received if it had been in the UK......?!!
They bid us on our way...but first warned us about the fixed radar trap 2 km further down the road just before the left hand bend. I presume your group saw that ?
Although the overtakes were 'spirited'; as there were no junctions and good visability I didn't think they were dangerous or excessive.
On the route back our group took a left just after the N128 crosses under the Paige road North of Alencon. There are some beautiful roads that run alongside the N128. Great twisties and almost traffic free. No police presence to mention. Also you pass through some lovely villages on route. And we found a Chateaux for lunch which was owned by a complete French petrolhead who had a friend driving a Courage at the race. He even had a plasma set up to watch the race.
Well worth the detour if you are going next year ! Send me an email and I am happy to pass on more details....

I saw no speed traps at all, no police on toll roads and motorways, just in towns on points duty.
Does that mean if I wasn't stopped, I won't be done for speeding? Wasn't strictly observant of speed limits, my speedo seemed to match the numbers on the road signs most of the time ahem...

On the way down we saw an Alfa SZ and a 80's red Porsche being lightened on the A16 about 25k outside of Boulogne and a few more traps down there. We also saw a Porker being chased down by a 306 and a bike and then being escorted off the road. We were watching the chase when 3 bikers came roaring up behind us. I franticly gestured them to slow down as they were doing an easy 150+mph. No thanks from them for saving their asses though.
No cops on the 138 though, especially after last year when it was flies around st time.
Our route back took us cross country for some fantastic D road driving and an overnight stop about 130k from Boulogne. Definitely the way to do it next year.

Well I did Mulsanne village to Barcelona in 8.45 hours – 640 miles. Left at 18:45 last night.
Didn’t see a single police car let alone speed trap However I also didn’t see a single waving crowd or exotic car either
Saw plenty of traps on trip down the N138 from Calais. Went past a few doing 150kph in a 130 stretch but had no Probs.
Also saw plenty of exotics, including a small convoy of Lambos. One got so hot in the traffic Jams he resorted to driving with the doors open (!)while another one suffered a backfiring problem after flashing past me at 'lightspeed' while I was also overtaking the usual lumbering lorry!
And Roundabouts seemed the spots for waving back at the locals!
