Evening all

I'm the new bloke from Haymarket (as some of you may know from other forums) i'm going to Le Mans this year and need some recommendations on camp sites. Prob take the Mrs who'll want some sort of shower/ mirror etc, but i want to be close enough so I don't have to drive every night.

Anyone got any suggestions- at least a slab of beer from the PH fund for whoever gets me a pitch (i'll bring it with me), either post here or mail me on paul.garlick@pistonheads.com

Cheers
P thumbup

ETA: If anyone can add me to their group, sell me an unwanted pitch then please get in touch.......

Hello mate,

have a look through beermountain.com they have a review of all the campsites on there as well as a shitload of general information.

IIRC, e36guy was sorting his own campsite out which might be worth finding out about as some of the others have probably sold out!

Chris.

Edit: heres the link to the campsite information

We camped outside the circuit in a village about 3 miles away,
very civilised, there were 2 females in the group and we managed to get leccy hook up, with fridge, kettle, hair straightners, laptop, battery chargers, hair dryer etc. all from the mains.
Was cheap as chips to camp there, our part of the camp site was empty apart from a group of Sylvas and a few others, so plenty of hook up pitches left.
Email me if you want to know more.

Actually, my friends and I have camped for years on an official campsite only 8 miles from the circuit in a pretty village in Neuville sur Sarthe. It is run by some friendly brits, so no language problems.
The campsite is excellent, has all the facilities your female guests could ask for, it even has an outdoor heated swimming pool! They run their own shuttle buses to and from the circuit, so you do not need to take your car. As it is a very large campsite, I have no doubt they will be able to accommodate your group.
I have managed to dig out their website, should you be interested: www.lemanscamping.net

Maybe, but the internet service is never launched until all the pre-bookings are fulfilled. Most camp sites and grandstands are now booked in this way. So, basically, if you don't book for '08 before this year's race, you'll be in the same boat again next year.
