Ok guys and girls. Thought I would put a fresh thread up from the classic thread.

I can arrange us a PH private area of the Maison Blanche campsite for the 2008 Le Mans classic. If we can get enough cars then it'll be done 100% at cost price as it'll just be a section for fun. Effectively somewhere for all PH crew to get together and a stones throw from the village and track.

We've been offered 5000sqm. That will include camping passes for 100 cars. Hopefully a group buy will also entitle us to group discount on the race tickets as it does at the 24hr but I will check on that.

So, cost price is €114.50 per car. If we get 100 cars and you all send me a cheque then I will get the field. Simple really!

We have 18 so far from the other thread. Please add yours if you want to join in.

Don't think grandstand or pit tickets are required. One entrance tickets gets you full access. Certainly did last time. It's 1/5 of the number of people so there is a lot more room and everything is open.

And you'd be more than welcome to come along Neil. You have to start somewhere!

Don't mean to put a downer on this Guy, but why is this so expensive for what is basicly a space to camp ? We are looking at £80 here. I only paid £40 a pitch for the main Le Mans this year in BSJ, whilst your reserved very 'boggy' area of BSJ was £99 per pitch. I know that MB is nearer the village etc, but this still seems steep for this event.

I may be interested in attending this event but not at those prices.

Because Maison Blanche is a much closer location to the village (a stonesthrow) and therefore, the ACO charge more to rent a space than they would down in Beausejour (which isn't open for the classic.)

The space is 2.29 euros per square meter for the classic and so that equates to 11450euros for 5000 sqm. They will allow us 100 cars on that space so that makes 114.50 per car. Cost price. No profit.

If it's too expensive Ian then you're welcome to camp elsewhere obviously but the point of renting a dedicated space is that there are a lot of PHers going down to the classic so why not look into having a spot that everyone can get together in one place. If it's too expensive for some then there are plenty of cheaper options.

Le Mans 24 hr. All about the festival atmosphere and party. Brilliant fun and as a car fan you will see almost everything you've ever dreamed about on display or driving about.

Classic. As above but less busy. About 1/5 the number of people. I could not choose between them and will do both in the years when both are running but if I really had to choose, it'd be the 24hour.

It will be a reserved part of MB (I hope) and only for people who put their names down on this list in this thread. Just means that you'll have a good spot to come to instead of the turn-up-and-see-where-we-can-find-a-pitch type affair. Shower facilities etc will be as per a usual Le Mans campsite set up. We could get dedicated facilities and put up fencing etc but that puts the price up a lot.

If you want to join us please add your names to the list. We need 100 cars to make it happen.

I would imagine camp being available for Friday Saturday Sunday but can't confirm anything until we have the numbers.

As we are nearly 50, I will see if they will do us a field for 50

That's a good idea Andy. Perhaps we could add our number to the cobra club as we really ought to get this organised now.

Spoke with E36GUY Friday evening and it looks like we might try and set something up camping wise between Piston Heads and the Cobra Club.
Keep watching for more info.
Andy,

If you can find out how much extra it'll cost to add 50 spaces to the CobraClub then everyone on our list (I have a few via whiterabbitracing.co.uk) can send you a cheque directly to settle.

How's that group?

They should do James as I asked them to hold me 100 spaces but we're going to get about 50. It shouldn't be a problem to get 50 added to the CobraClub as long as everyone shells out their share.

Nice one Andy.

Did you mention that it was a reservation for me that is being added to your lot?

Not had any response on this lately from the ACO. Suggest following Andy's instructions above to get MB tickets

We'd have needed 100 cars Burriana as there is a lower square metre limit that they insist on. It's 5000sqm so that's the equiv of 100 cars worth. We got to 40 something.

Anyone know if there any other camp sites open in the area?
I think the ACO are opening Beausejour for the Classic as well.

According to my contact, numbers are running neck and neck in terms of the classic & 24 hr at the moment. Shame. Seems too many people have found out about the Classic. Bloody chat forums!
