Barely a month to go before the greatest endurance race in the world ... and we're counting down

Le Mans fever has firmly gripped the PH office this week, largely because of the introduction of a countdown to the big day on all the threads in our Le Mans forum.

It's therefore with more than a frisson of excitement that we realise that there's barely more than a month left before the annual pilgrimage to La Sarthe begins.

So if you haven't yet booked your trip over, may we present you with today's POTW, a reminder of what makes Le Mans such a special race. And that's before you consider this year's hybrid battle between Audi and Toyota, or the fabulous Nissan DeltaWing. Or the beer and endless variations of meat-based snacking...

I think slightly more appropriate would be a photo from the Nürburgring 24 hour.
there's barely a week to go until that, and I would respectively suggest that it is the N24 which is the worlds greatest race.

Don't worry, we haven't forgotten the N24 - We have plans up our virtual sleeve to cover that little event, so keep your eyes peeled for stuff over the next week or so...

Great pic. Minor niggle: It's obviously been created for Windows PC desktops as there is a honking black bar at the bottom of the picture and the PH logo is covered by the top bar on a Mac

Does anybody know why when I try and open the picture for smartphones I just get a blank screen? I have tried enabling cookies and turning the pop up blocker off.

Château booked. Crossings booked. Caterham out of winter hibernation yesterday and off to Jensen Motorsport for a top to bot service and set up.

Off to Classic too. Le Mans 24 with the boys and to Classic with the better 'alves!
