Granted it probably doesn't happen often, but I've heard that for certain deals, leasing co.s offer existing customers new leases with no initial payment.

Eurolease direct do cars with no deposit.

I think they are on 5 year HP schemes though and they take advantage of the VT clause at 50% to make them work like 3 year leases.

How it works.

Lease company (manufacturer 9 times out of 10) buy the car, they get between 12-30% fleet discount, they then get the vat back (entitled to as it is nothing but a business purchase) and then work out what it is worth in 2 - 4 years time with various mileages.

They often also agree a price for buy back at the end.
They sell back to the supplier, it is a good way for the supplier to get metal on the road, grab market share of the industry and keep control of used values at the end, hence why you can't buy them.

As a rule it just goes back to the lease company, and they auction it off. It's probably too much hassle for them to allow you to buy it privately.
I have had first refusal on all of the lease cars I've had, including one where in hindsight I should have bitten their arm off. The only thing that stopped me was that the car was no longer practical for me.

I've just been asked for my driving license and bank statement. Do you guys blank out the amounts? Such as ingoing/outgoing and current balance.

Obviously I leave my address, account number and sort code so it's proof of 'me'. They have these details anyway.

My mum's just ordered a new lease car, Micra Visia 1.2 5dr. Boggo spec apart from metallic paint, pretty reasonable at £89.99 a month (inc. VAT). Nothing fancy but all she wanted was a small 5dr to potter about in, does what it says on the tin.

Over £5000 for 2yrs motoring doesn't sound great to me. I don't think I'll ever get my head around the value people place on having a new car and the depreciation they're willing to accept.
I was of a similar opinion until I did my research. Do the maths on buying something similar to the Fiesta ST-3 second hand say 6 years old, take into account depreciation, running costs, repairs, Tax and you will be surprised just how much it costs.

I'm still considering leasing a golf R but PCP's do give you a bit more flexibility.

Nice one.

Had a look at the VXR deal and it says non-maintained with no obvious option to change. Did you get a special deal?

I've kept off this thread for a while as there haven't really been any stonkingly good deals for a few weeks.

This Fiesta ST-3 deal looks brilliant though; http://www.gateway2lease.com/z_ford_fiestast-3_1.6...
st, that is bloody good frown

The ST1 with metallic paint I just ordered costs a far bit more than that for 2 years (even with over £3500 off RRP). But maybe I'll keep hold of it. Must stop coming on to this thread!

It's not expensive for a C63??

At the height of the C63 lease deals the best was around £585-£600 /month with 3 months down over 24 months so pretty much the same.

A C63 is going to depreciate by £16k or more in the first 2 years so I am not sure what the issue us?

Pay cash lose £16k, pay PCH lose £16k.

Pay PCP or HP and lose a whole lot more!

Does it actually exist? I can't imagine there are many C63 still in stock and they ain't building the new ones yet.

Is that a lease car or a hire car?

A lease will allow you to buy at the end if you want, that is after all what it is designed for, contract hire there is usually very little chance.

Not saying it is not possible, but often the car is already accounted for at the end of the agreement going back into the approved used car scheme where they will get top whack for it.

In my experience most lease companies will happily accept the purchase of an ex lease car as it saves on Approved Used Car checks and maintenance prior to sale again.

Having said that some manufacturers need to control used stock so will likely auction the right cars to dealers.
