A question about excess mileage charges on Volvos if I may

Is 17.28ppm excess normal?

This in on a 3+35 15k / annum PCH

No, it's a fortune, verging on punitive for most cars. VWFS or Mercedes will be around 10ppm for a "normal" car. Probably OK for an XC90, but it's a hell of a lot for anything sub £40k.

Of course, if you're not going to go over and the rest of the deal is OK, it might still be worth going for - but I'd be erring on the side of caution in terms of the mileage I wanted and if I thought I might still go over, or the deal was now uncompetitive, I'd go elsewhere.

I appreciate it is a fortune compared to other marques (I have a BMW & Merc on lease, both at less than 10ppm xs)

I want to find out if it is standard from Volvo before I address it with them as part of the negotiations

It is on an XC60 with SRP £36k

Allroads all have the 3.0 TDI engine - in three different states of tune (the highest power version having an extra turbo).

I really like mine. I've even contemplated buying a BiTDi version when the lease ends.
A4 AllRoads are available with different engines, Wife has a 2.0TDi 190 DSG.

Cheers,

Phil
Good point - CAH706 has the same deal as me which was on an A6 Allroad. The A6s have just the V6 diesel but you're right, the A4 Allroads are also available with the 2.0 diesel. I've seen some good deals on the A4, though what I initially thought was the 272PS diesel was actually just the 218PS; you can distinguish between them without delving into the specs because the 272 comes with a Tiptronic (ZF 8-sp) auto while the 218 comes with S-Tronic (DSG 7-sp).

Volvo XC60 11p + vat so 14p is what I will have to pay as we are over by 2000 miles already after 19 monhs

Might have to look at VAG next time to keep the excess charge down, though I got quoted 9p + vat on a 3.0l A4

Hi.
I've been watching the lease deals for a while now waiting for a deal on the golf gti. I obviously wasn't quick enough with the offers on last week, I was just wondering if anyone on here managed to get one and what the actual prices were? I'm in no rush just want an idea of what's realistic. Thanks.
There's a dedicated thread here: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

For those going for the Golf R 'loyalty' deal (£2k initial rental plus 23 x £240 - DSG with 5k pa) - is that including metallic paint?

Brilliant info thanks to all that have responded to my questions (sorry for all of them!) - the Octavia VRS looks excellent and the Superb so its really which one and the best deal, I have enquired through a few parties about both.

Thanks for the GAP insurance link as well.

Great thread!

I realise this isn't a lease deal and it's not really a fair comparison, but I received this 'offer' today via email for a PCP deal on a bog standard 2 series oil burner. It boggles my mind that people would actually bite on a deal like that when way more interesting metal can be leased for less!

Interesting deal. The GLA's a really handsome car in the AMG Line spec. It's amazing in 2016 though that a 2.1 diesel can be made to be so slow!

It's called anchoring (and not just because the engine is a boat anchor!) Making it that slow makes it seem like good value to pay an extra couple of £k for a 250 model even though the manufacturing and engineering costs the same.

Sadly not. C Coupe is really hard to get hold of, I've only just had an order matched last week that I took in July. So support has been wound back on them. There are a few leasing companies with terms issued before availability became so limited, so it may be cheaper elsewhere

Just returned my Golf GTD after 24 months and 35k of issue free and enjoyable motoring.

Had a couple of scrapes to the bumper and alloys and someone opened their door into the offside front wing creating a little dent about the size of a 5p.

Didn't have the time to get the car repaired so was expecting a hefty fine. So was happily surprised when the inspector issued a £36 charge.

Yeah, not great. My R Estate was £1500 initial, 23 x £240. That was including Lapiz paint.

Cheers. Tempting deal in the S5 then...
