Just had a call from Brindley. Anyone dealing with Greg, he has moved on!! My car is arriving in the next day or two but I’m not picking it up until 25th as I’m going on holiday.
Lol I need it like this weekend but won't be possible as it is arriving on Sunday and won't be ready for another 3 days... For prep... It is Wolverhampton only..Can I switch over yours

If other cars are coming in a couple of days that sounds like the same time-frame as yours.
Have you had a new car before? No harm in asking but it can take a few days to turn it around especially as it'll need a mechanic to do the PDI and most places are pretty flat out and won't have guys standing around. I'm sure they'd have preferred to get Ivfs2's car out on Tuesday if they could, rather than having it sitting there for a couple of weeks.
Yes that's true.. The turnaround for pdi is around 3 days but you are right it may be a week as well.. For me it is this weekend or next.. So looks like next weekend is the best bet Have you had a new car before? You do need a compatible EV charging station for Octopus intelligent, and other tariffs too probably. I'm already with Octopus since they took over Bulb and I'm going to switch to Octopus GO, because I'm going to see how I go with just granny charging. I only did 3 or 4 journeys of 200+ miles in one day last year.
Octopus GO is 9p per kWh at present, but only from 00:30 to 04:30. The day rate goes up by 5%.
hhave a look at the octupus tracker.. way cheaper Octopus GO is 9p per kWh at present, but only from 00:30 to 04:30. The day rate goes up by 5%.

If you have a decent outdoor socket near the car a 13A mains charger is fine
If you have to mess with extension leads, or your house wiring is very old, I'd get a new socket fitted for peace of mind. 10A continuously for 6+ hours causes things to warm up

My wife is just interested in heated seats the rest of the car is irrelevant to her. Make no mistake this is a better car than a ZS, I got a cracking deal on my ZS at £270 a month no deposit over 3 years so this is a bargain.
No call from Luke today so delay looks likey.
Lol mine is heated seats plus pan roof.. Shown her the pan roof opening and down to elegance :PNo call from Luke today so delay looks likey.

At 6k miles per year, even at only 3m / kWh (hoping for better ), that's 2000kwh.
On Octopus Go for me that's £180 p.a. (and yes, before anyone raises it, 5% more the rest of the time so an extra £3 per month) = £216.
If you need to regularly use all the range on successive days, I can see the need for a dedicated charger, you can get even longer cheaper rates on Intelligent and Agile then, but I reckon I'll be OK with a 3 pin socket to start with. We'll see.

Don't you need a home charging station for Tracker?
There's no requirement for a dedicated charger with GO, plus you know what the rate is, and it's all electricity in the home between 00:30 and 04:30. Although I note some of Octopus's own web ages have the rate at 12p, others at the correct 9p.
nope.. tracker is changing 24 hrs rate throughout the day...going to other tariff is not useful at all as u pay higher charges in day time.. and only doing 6k per annumThere's no requirement for a dedicated charger with GO, plus you know what the rate is, and it's all electricity in the home between 00:30 and 04:30. Hmm, yep expensive. my quick ctm quote was £840. Essex but on London border. Full no claims and no endorsements. Punchy. Current insurance provider switched for the remainder or my policy, 2 months for £100. Picking up tomorrow so went with this for now hopefully get something cheaper in 2 months.
That's good.. Did you get the reg for the insurance? Also which branch dealer you going to pick up pls lost in espace said:
I needed a new policy as this is an additional car. The best price was through Topcashback with £45 back so £500 with windscreen cover, I think I will get excess cover too as it is £600, and gap from Gap Direct. Luckily Admiral seems to work with a reg no without a DVLA database query if you have a quote already on a car model. Collect on Friday from Cannock.
Edited to add Direct Gap for 3 years was £143.
What you use for gap cover pls and what type... A bit confused.. Also my car is on wife name but I am proposer for insurance.. Do I need gap cover on her name or mine.. Thanks Edited to add Direct Gap for 3 years was £143.

Delivery confirmed for tomorrow along with reg no.
Hopefully get it picked up at the weekend.
My current insurance was just renewed a couple of weeks ago.
Extra £85 for the Honda which I'm more than happy with.
I'm with Admiral.
That's strange with both admiral and Hastings.. If you swap over car it is cheaper then buying new one.Hopefully get it picked up at the weekend.

Brindley never got back to me after my initial enquiries on the Sunday/Monday so I missed out on the £179 deal.
When it went up to the £229 I thought I would try the few dealers nearest to me to price match and sure enough they did (first one of trying)
I had thought at that point it was going to be a nightmare for Brindley to get all of these out over a 2 week period. So whilst it isn’t a great experience for the original poster it is sort of understandable. Getting all of the cars fully charged is going to be a time consuming process alone.
I’m not fully defending them but if you got on at the 179, I think you e got to have a bit of reality that you aren’t going to get the A1 service that you might have done going in and buying a new car at a normal price, not on a time sensitive deal. These have all got to be out by the end of next week and they are probably at the point where they are struggling for time.

It should not matter to the dealership how the customer is buying or what deal is it.. They will get their commission for sure.. When it went up to the £229 I thought I would try the few dealers nearest to me to price match and sure enough they did (first one of trying)

Cannock were brutal.
No calls, no updates etc - typical sales BS when asking straightforward questions. Car wasn’t particularly clean or prepared very well and hadn’t been fully charged when I collected it.
My car also hadn’t been PDI’d properly - similar to a lot of others - and the telematics hasn’t been configured and a few other things. So there is no connected services, app access or anything like that.
I contacted Honda UK who explained the above and said I’ve to take it to a local dealer who will charge and bill Cannock. I’ve asked why I should be doing this and chasing it up because of poor prep.
Also no information or details on the warranty, servicing or any roadside assistance package/numbers. I asked where the details were and was told “in the welcome pack” which is just a copy of the finance documents.
Car is nice though, it’s comfortable, everything’s automated, lots of room for tall people and long legged children.
I like it a lot. And my bank account likes it even more.
