honda eny1 deal - feb 2024 end

Cannock were brutal.
No calls, no updates etc - typical sales BS when asking straightforward questions. Car wasn’t particularly clean or prepared very well and hadn’t been fully charged when I collected it.
My car also hadn’t been PDI’d properly - similar to a lot of others - and the telematics hasn’t been configured and a few other things. So there is no connected services, app access or anything like that.
I contacted Honda UK who explained the above and said I’ve to take it to a local dealer who will charge and bill Cannock. I’ve asked why I should be doing this and chasing it up because of poor prep.
Also no information or details on the warranty, servicing or any roadside assistance package/numbers. I asked where the details were and was told “in the welcome pack” which is just a copy of the finance documents.
Car is nice though, it’s comfortable, everything’s automated, lots of room for tall people and long legged children.
I like it a lot. And my bank account likes it even more.

This absolutely reeks of "fk the customer, they're getting it on the cheap, why should we bother". What a horrible sounding dealership. No calls, no updates etc - typical sales BS when asking straightforward questions. More generally, Honda used to be great customer service - for instance, they changed rear discs and pads on a Jazz we had in the family a few years ago because they'd gone a bit rusty. Those days seem to have gone, along with the lovely little independant dealers they used to have. Last interaction I had with Honda UK, a few yrs ago, they basically told me to sod off and if I didn't like it I should contact the Ombudsman. It's one of the reasons I didn't go for this deal.

Brindley never got back to me after my initial enquiries on the Sunday/Monday so I missed out on the £179 deal. When it went up to the £229 I thought I would try the few dealers nearest to me to price match and sure enough they did (first one of trying)
I had thought at that point it was going to be a nightmare for Brindley to get all of these out over a 2 week period. So whilst it isn’t a great experience for the original poster it is sort of understandable. Getting all of the cars fully charged is going to be a time consuming process alone.
I’m not fully defending them but if you got on at the 179, I think you e got to have a bit of reality that you aren’t going to get the A1 service that you might have done going in and buying a new car at a normal price, not on a time sensitive deal. These have all got to be out by the end of next week and they are probably at the point where they are struggling for time.

It should not matter to the dealership how the customer is buying or what deal is it.. They will get their commission for sure.. When it went up to the £229 I thought I would try the few dealers nearest to me to price match and sure enough they did (first one of trying)

I am after this information as well... Child lock feature like it must always do...
Apparently auto parking brake needs to be enabled as well.. But it stays once done
After a bit of research I don't think it has the feature of the doors auto locking on drive off. A few websites also says this is normal on most Japanese cars, is this true?Apparently auto parking brake needs to be enabled as well.. But it stays once done
I picked mine up over the weekend so thought I’d put down my initial impressions now I’ve had it for a few days.
I have to say I’m quite impressed. You get a lot of tech, keyless entry, wireless CarPlay, wireless charging pad, auto lights, heated seats etc.
The interior is a fairly nice place to be. Is it as good as previous German cars I’ve had? Well no, some of the trims are quite plastic and the build quality isn’t as good, but you expect that to be the case. You have to remember it is a Chinese car with a Honda badge slapped on.
There are some annoying things. It doesn’t auto lock when you drive, you have to manually lock the car from the inside. The app isn’t working for me, currently going through Honda customer support. It is my first EV so it obviously drives different from what I’m used to, I think it will just take some time to get used to.
I’m only paying £180 so the fact it’s got seats and a steering wheel for that price suits me. If I was paying full price would I be impressed, well let’s be honest we wouldn’t have bought one if it was full price, there are plenty of better options out there. But for my needs and price it will work perfectly.

Just had a call saying a transporter full has arrived at Cannock...
Mines not on it!! Maybe tomorrow, maybe Monday.
Said they HAVE to be registered and taxed before 28th
Just had exactly the same conversation!Mines not on it!! Maybe tomorrow, maybe Monday.

TBH I’m not massively bothered as we are in no rush for it, but would be helpful to have a little more certainty.
