Just put in an order on the Octavia vRS TDI. My local dealer were able to match the Simpsons deal and throw in maintenance (in exchange for slightly shafting me on my PX, by way of some kind of mutual understanding).
Summary:
Skoda Octavia vRS TDI 5dr Hatch
24 months
8k mpa (7.2p/mile excess inc. VAT)
£1500 deposit inc. VAT
£199 per month inc. VAT
Also supposedly current build orders (including mine) are supposedly having the basic sat nav added to them FOC. Dealer reckoned that they may be about to alter the standard spec.
Oh wow if they are now including sat nav that's a big help.did you go for manual or Dsg?Summary:

Hope I didn't miss out of that - my vRS was ordered about 3 weeks ago. Probably being built in around a month.Summary:

It's nothing official or guaranteed. He simply mentioned that the last few build orders he had put through in the last few days had gained it, that it may not last long (or foretell a sight spec and pricing change), and it would appear that mine has picked it up.mr21 said:

Hmm, this seems like a good deal and a lot of car for the money. I'm tempted to chuck my old golf in as a deposit but would prefer the petrol model. Are they doing the same deal on the petrol or is it just the diesel?Summary:

Been looking at maybe getting a lease as it seems like a good way to have a new car for a couple of years and not pay that much
However every single lease company has a really dodgy looking website and ominous T&C's that don't fill me with confidence. Am I just expecting too much from these companies? Should I go direct to a dealer for a better deal?

SEAT Leon FR TDI 185 5 dr
Initial Rental: £1,019.94 + VAT
23 monthly rentals of: £169.99 + VAT
Documentation Fee: £199.99 + VAT
For those of you thinking Leon is not GTD/120D equivalent, is a Focus?
These Leon Deals really are the elephant in the room in this sector.
Anyway I've got to keep quiet about them as mine's not due until Sept.
Only £350 cheaper over the term than the Golf though:SEAT Leon FR TDI 185 5 dr

Well I've just noticed they've accidentally put mine through as a TSI, hope they let me have it anyway (not much chance). Will probably lose the sat nav when they redo it now...Cheers

Got to see the VWFS quote system and there was a specific 'VRS PCH campaign' (rather than the generic PCH option), but didn't note whether it specified TDI or not. The campaign itself required a deposit of £1600 exc. VAT to get to the £199 inc. VAT monthly figure, therefore the dealers are contributing £350 in order to arrive at the Simpsons deal.

Ok, thanks mate. I'll have to go to a dealer and have a chat. Citroen C1 Feel - £1000+vat up front followed by 23 x £35+vat per month. 5000 miles per year.
Under £2k inc vat for 2 years of motoring. That's £81 a month - it even has aircon.
Should be dirt cheap to insure - perfect for the city folk?

Vauxhall Adam is also quite good at £129 per month inc vat and that includes AA roadside and insurance. That's direct from Vauxhall too.

That's 26% of its RRP over the 2 year lease. IMHO the best deals for cars generally are when it's ~20% of RRP over 2 years. But of course if you specifically want an Octavia then you have to pay the going rates of that quarter. A Toyota Avensis would be cheaper (£149+VAT, 6+23, 10k)
not sure where you've got 26% from, with his options it's £28,995, so 23%....also you always pay more when you add options...HarryW said:

Anyone used Freedom Contracts and Simpsons Skoda?
For the Skoda Octavia Estate 2.0 TDI CR 150ps Scout 4x4 5dr DSG with metallic paint and following options - Front parking sensors and keyless entry.
Freedom Contracts is working out £300 cheaper over the 24month contract as apposed to simspons skoda.
Simpsons Skoda have been the more helpful on the phone but obviously there is £300 difference.
