I am currently awaiting delivery (next week hopefully!) on a 430d M Sport with M sport plus pack, 3+35, 6k miles £449 inc. vat p/m, including full maintenance. Not a super cheap deal, but bloody nice car, They were about £30 a month cheaper than this on a batch not long ago (exc. maintenance) but i missed that batch by the skin of my teeth (limited build slots)
Why go for full maintenance on a 6k per year contract. Must have been a cheap option. Car will only need one service during contract?

Good question. It was £3 per month more than non-maintenance. When i queried, the guy said that the residuals are better on that because the maintenance was 'guaranteed'. I explained that even non-maintained, I would still be under contract to have it serviced correctly as per manufacturer guidelines, but it didn't seem to wash with them. I would have been happier them knocking £25 per month or whatever off of the monthlies and paying 425 with no maintenance but they wouldn't do that. Non-maintenance was simply 446.

The maintenance does cover tyres (including punctures) so there is a little bit of added value there anyway (as they are run flats).

I can see why you've taken maintenance, but the reason you've been told makes not a jot of sense to me!

But I do really like to look of the new big Hyundai. I think the gateway deal came out at £5555 for 8K over 2 years. Cheap as chips.
Has anybody seen/driven one? Does anybody know what prices the dealerships have these for?
The Tucson? It's the ix35 replacement, ie. mid-sized crossover, not a "big" one - that's the Santa Fe.

The was one in the Bluewater Hyundai showroom a couple of weeks ago, was pretty impressed with it. Nice interior, decent size boot. There aren't huge discounts (orangewheels showing £21k (£1700 off) for that model) so a good deal on that lease.

Me neither - but they wouldn't budge on it. I dealt direct with the finance company on it - Lex Autolease.

That's a good deal!
Comes out at £6237.50 over 2 year, or £259.90 per month.
That's based on 15,000 miles/year at £0.06/mile (usual VW rate).
Very tempted to go for this..
I make it £4856.34 for two years or £202.34 per month

Got a quote back from Gateway today and it included the maintained price as £1022.04 deposit with 23 x £170.34 payment. Amounts include vat. Be silly not to pay the extra £3 a month.
Very tempted by this myself - I've been wanting a manual 5dr small hot hatch at I have 3 kids, so 3dr is a pain for the odd time I have to get the kids in the car (I currently have an E92 coupe)

Is the finance through VW so a 6ppm excess +vat?

I have requested a quote so will find out myself eventually! smile

Was just about to post that - those figures are about the same as the original Golf R deals.

Still think I'd go for the Polo GTi though.

Yes the 9 + 23 is probably a tad cheaper and pay the excess 6k miles @ 6ppm would be around £6k all in which seems a pretty good price!

Cheapy Citroen Cactus, only a 1 year deal though...

What are these vehicles like?

I've just had a quote off that site for 15,000 miles per annum. Cost to me each month is £88.99 with £800 down. Very good price, I think.

I've never leased before, so think I need to head out and get a test drive done. smile

They look pretty cool in a utilitarian way AS LONG AS YOU ARE CAREFUL WITH THE COLOUR COMBINATION!!!!

I have seen some terrible combinations on the road - you want those bubble bits on the side to be subtle, not Lime green on White..........

Black on black looks ok. Or metallic brown with black.

No idea what they are like to drive though.....

Loads of great looking deals out there at the moment - this seems a pretty good deal on the Volvo XC60 - http://www.gateway2lease.com/volvo_xc60_leasing.ph...

A colleague has a R-design on lease - tis a really nice car - not sure if it is worth any extra over the SE though.

I had one as a hire car a few weeks ago when I was in Holland on business. Black on black, which wasn't a great combination IMO, prefer the more striking combinations myself. No idea what size engine it had, just that it was petrol and reasonably peppy. Not bad to drive either. The trip before that I was given a Dacia Duster and I much preferred the Citroen.

Well we just sold out 2008 C1. Owned it for 20 months. Done 16k miles. Spent £300 on maintenance/MOT. And in that time it has depreciated by £1900 from dealer forecourt to ebay.

Next time i'm going to lease unless i can guarantee keeping it for 5yrs+

I read the WHat car review which says the car is pretty good, but my concern is a rubbery gear change, and much more worrying the seats are potentially uncomfortable and the steering wheel does not adjust for reach - I have to do the occasional long journey for work and I can't stand an uncomfy car.

I had my VW Polo GTi quote back from Gateway2lease.

The finance is with Hitachi, which means 14.04ppm excess for the first 10%, so not as good as with a VWFS quote. Also means VW dealers may not be able to offer the same deal.

It doesn't say what the excess is for anything over 10%.......
