What did the advert say?

Any written comms, e.g. emails, FB messages, texts?

Rest of it is he-said/she-said.

Who is more convincing? Who is luckier?

Will be interested to hear the outcome and the reasoning if this ever gets to court.

I’ll let you know the outcome. The mediation lady said it could take up to a year to go to court!!

Shame that invoice took so long to get posted up and there's no date on it. So questions remain.
Ooops, what invoice? It seems to have disappeared again.

Thought I would update you all
Had our day in court and won!!!
The judge asked the claimant how did I know the car was faulty when sold as no warning lights on and no warnings on test drive and the claimants reply was I don’t know,
Judge then went on to say the car was road worthy, description was correct so in this case it’s caveat emptor
“Buyer beware” case dismissed
In and out in 4 minutes !!

Thanks for updating.

Result entirely as expected.

Any costs incurred?

No cost on our behalf
Claimant paid £210 for the money claim then a further £345 to have it heard in court

If I were the judge I wouldn't stand for any of this nonsense. Second hand car deals between private buyers where there is no warranty etc is famously 'buyer beware'.
In and out in 4 minutes, judgement in your favour. Lol.

Basically exactly as predicted. Well done. It was a waste of your time you could have done without but at least you won so that's a positive.
