I was VHP car no. 12. I think Owens is no 8

Edited by worty on Sunday 22 October 11:44

Mines no 16. When I was checking around about the car one person I spoke to thought I said VHP and I'm sure he said that was the one damon hill had for his driving club.

Did you buy it from him?

Bondy

Tell me what else he said about the car and I'll confirm or deny Greg's scandalous allegation

I'd expect nothing less.
So story is P1 bought it had it nicely specked all the add ons and upgrades, cost clearly not an issue and then sold it to a doctor in Scarborough who ran it as an everyday car . Spent lots on it having it properly looked after but put about 18k miles on it in less than a year.

I was the proud owner of a 1971 RWA MG midget 1275 (rebored to 1293 - makes all the difference )which hadn't turned a wheel for about 8 years but was in the process of being taken apart with a view to a rebuild to race alongside a mate of mine in his sprite.
Said friend , a proper but old racing driver , then decides he's lost his bottle and doesn't want to race. That cocks up the plans somewhat as the support costs were due to be met 50/50. Turns out that it will be £1000's cheaper to buy a race prepared car rather than sort mine so sell the mg.
Sulk for a few weeks
Said friend rings to see if I want to buy his Ferrari. 348ts 11k on the clock mint. But for the fact I can't move inside and have to remove my shoes to drive it was quite fun.
Sadly not for me though.
Went on my holidays and decided that 3 cars was excessive and I'd be sensible, at which point received a text from said friend that he'd sold the fezza to a doc in Scarborough who had part-exd him a Noble. I told him not to sell it until I got back and made a bid on it subject to viewing.
Saw it at 7pm had a drive agreed the purchase (even though a dealer had outbid me) and picked the car up the following day. QED

Spent a few quid on it since but nothing major and most of that has been on Bov intercooler lights etc
.
Biggest decision at the moment is do I finally remove my Le mans livery for the Noble meet in November

PS
If you know of any history good or bad I'd be interested to know

Good to hear that all is well with it.

I think I was speaking to MV at the time. Actualy I think it may have been Gatwick TVR as they had the records for my car as MV and GTVR split and all the old records are at Gatwick. May be worth calling them.

IIRC 25's are about £600-£700 each. Pretty much as good as new when they come back from TT though, all new bearings and seals and re coated.

For anyone interested in T25's (maybe blown) get over to the Fiat coupe forum, a guy called Barbz on there helped develop a "superspool" versoin which i use on my Coop. The units are fantastic, pull harder and faster than a std unit as i THINK they have a larger but cut back compressor inside ond 360 deg bearing. Anyway, nice to know a rebuild is ONLY 4.6k rather than 10k most seem to have been charged in the past. You did do it all yourself tho didn't you mate?

Just out of curiosity have you stuck it on a rolling road yet? I'm intriged to know what some of the uber 2.5's produce these days since my car started life as one and then I changed it to a 3L with LSD and 6sp.
