Eek, don't think Roush will be too happy with that quote!

J Clarkson - Sunday Times said:
In a fury this time, I called Ford and explained, loudly, that Roush, the company charged with servicing and maintaining the 28 GTs in Britain, was plainly incompetent

It seems Mr Clarkson is less than happy with his GT. Full story here - http://driving.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,12529-1677058_2,00.html

Personaly I feel the comment made about Roush is completely unfounded and 'Jezza' needs to be a little realistic. His GT hasn't turned the gearbox inside out, ingested shards of supercharger internals or threw him off a motorway sideways ..... the alarms gone off a few times

Best Regards
Matt

looks to me like he drove it for a week decided he didn't like it and because of who he is, got his money back.

Why would he need to do that? Could have sold it at a hefty premium if that was the case.

Sounds like Ford called his bluff by giving him the money back and taking the car off him

He claims in the artcle that he could have sold it on for a £50,000 profit but has never tried to profit from his position as a motoring journalist and he never will.

He'll never profit from being a journalist - B bloody b******s. Does he think getting on of only 28 cars to come to the UK isn't related to his job?

And when he wanted to hand it back - a used car and he gets the full cost price back - how many others would be able to take a car, run if for a month then get the full cost price back. B*****ks.

Hmm I can see every manufacturerr offering that to all their customers.

Parcimonious prattle.

To be fair to him, why should he have to think of Roush as just engine people and deal with the subtleties of the alarm being subcontracted out. It ought to be fixed when they take it away.

In fact, to not fix a car belonging to a high profile motoring journo is a fairly silly thing to do.

As you can imagine, there are a lot of people here at Roush who are smarting at the "incompetent" tag. I just wish Mr Clarkson would get his facts right before publishing - but then it wouldn't make such a good story!! Does researching the facts not count towards "competent" journalism?

Think he said 'profit from'...not get preferential treatment from. And why the hell wouldn't he get his money back in this case? He could have got a lot more than his money back elsewhere.
