Front Splitter GTO 3R

You may have done this one to death so apologies as I'm new to the noble scene. Under hard acceleration my front end lightens up and I'm presuming this is because the splitter that was originally on the car has been removed. So .. pros and cons of splitters? I'd love to have an original but I'm assuming they're pretty hard to come by .. has anyone else successfully replaced one with something like an original? (GTO 3R)

Thanks gents a lot to check but it sounds as though a stock splitter isn't the way forward. Tux, interesting re filling in the front wheel arches. Thanks for your help I'll see how I get on ..

Just to add, in the end I added a splitter bought from Jetstream as it made approx 5/6mm difference (guess) to the clam height, protects the clam, the original had it on and finally (in my opinion) the car looks better : ) Whether it helped with the original issue who knows.
