Mac#1 Motorsport Worx Build

Right then folks, I know it's been ages since my last update, but now I finally have something to say... my car has passed the IVA test
I've just bought an ignition module to allow the ignition timing to be adjusted and booked a R/R session at BigCC on Monday afternoon, wish me luck
After speaking to Shaun at BigCC, it's clear that I'm unable to run as much boost as I was expecting to be able to, he said to keep the engine reliable a limit of around 12psi or maybe a little bit more would be advisable, any more than that and it'd need to be ran on race fuel, which obviously doesn't make sense for a road car. I can't wait to see/hear it at full chat and to find out what kind of bhp figures it makes, answers on a postcard please...

I haven't been following this thread so forgive me if this has already been answered, but why is the engine parallel to the outer chassis rail, instead of in-line with the prop?
Does it confer some kind of advantage, because there have been vibration issues with angled props in BEC installations. The fw'd prop into reverse boxes in 'bird installations springs to mind.
If you want an idea of what power you'll get, have a look at Holeshot's website as they used to include power figures with their turbo conversions.

Great news - looking forward to hearing what it makes on the RR.I've just bought an ignition module to allow the ignition timing to be adjusted and booked a R/R session at BigCC on Monday afternoon, wish me luck

Well last week I made the trip down to BigCC Racing with the Mac Worx
The car was strapped on the rollers and a good bit of setting up was carried out
The final result was 297bhp/132lbft @ wheels (12psi) and 222bhp/103lbft @ wheels (8psi)
Here are a couple of videos of the action at various stages.

Bloody Nora. Christ on a bike.
Near as makes no difference 300bhp in something so light!! People say 300bhp/tonne is decent. Your pushing towards double that!
You, sir, are a mentalist! And I love it!

Those figues are at the wheels, the engines probably making closer to 350bhp, the car weighs around 450kg, so should make for an interesting drive Just waiting on the DVLA registering it before I eventually find out!Red16 said:

that's just insane! You have to let us know what that's like to drive - and a couple of timed runs would be nice.
What do you expect the 0-60 time to be??
Top work!!!
No idea on what kind of 0-60mph to expect, i'll be very pleased if it's around the 3 seconds mark, but will have to just wait and find out.
When it's on the road and had a bit of a shakedown i'll get some video's sorted out
It's still got to go back to BigCC for further mapping, as I'm waiting on the Power Commander ignition module coming in, it can then be mapped and have the timing adjusted, and maybe run a bit more boost
