Always throught an MX5 fastback coupe would be nice, though there was a limited edition coupe in the japanese market.
Seen it done on both first and second gen - think it's the latter that was offered in limited numbers

A PICTURE HAS NOW BEEN LEAKED, I'm not saying where though, you will just have to come to Newark to see it now.

Just got back from Newark - the MEVX5 looks great in the flesh ... I'm even tempted to get one myself!

I'll have mine in burnt orange or metallic red please!

Forgive the poor re-colouring in photoshop but I wondered what it might look like in some other colours ...

Well I think it looks great, don't like the wheels much, but I think he has made a nice job of that, I do think the front lights could do with some perspex light covers on, just to finish it off.

Will this be just selling as a kit or would conversions be done if a car was brought to you?

I think this concept has mileage, the attraction will be making a waterproof alternative car on a daily basis.
What i don't get though is why graft the front and rear of an elise on to it? It is only ever going to look like a bad copy of an elise? Designing a good bespoke front and rear could make this a real winner. Look at the Ginetta G40....

I don't want to diminish anyone's hard work and enthusiasm, i know it takes a lot to get to where you are, but i do think - this is meant as constructive criticism btw - that there is limited life in something so close, but so far from an elise. Why not just buy an elise?

Might pop down and see this tomorrow. That Grey photoshop has got me rather interested. Mazda reliability with new stunning coupe looks and cheap routes to forced induction... YUMMY!

Looks nice, probably because it lends heavily from the Elise s2.

My first attempt at changing a car colour with Photoshop can't be all that bad after all! laugh I agree about the grey one - it does seem to suit the car...

Just tried a minor tweak - darker grey around the headlights....
