Is this new/different design similar to the trike or something different?
I apologise for the late reply.....frown

What do you mean when you say different design ?
The Tercyclo looks 'new' and modern with a low capacity engine in hope of some economy etc. Will the new design be like that or a more traditional/old school trike with more sporting intentions and less 'city'? Modern with more power?

You've shown a lot of great designs on here in the last few years, I hope we get to see some 4-wheelers sometime too smile
For the time being the TERCYCLO is the first design to reach production eventhough a few sports car prototypes of mine were never shown to the public in the past few years...hopefully they will in 2011.

As for myself I would like to work on a new personal kitcar design project, maybe a more traditional old school trike with more power or a 4 wheeler kitcar Coupe project.

Just need the funds now as I have the design laying in my drawer....smile

Found on my ebay searches for trikes, but looks fun.
This could be the same T-rex inspired 3wheeler:

Check at the endo of the page for the Viper automatic 250cc :

But after all these years I still think that the Moonbeam is best little 3wheeler that I've seen built with a low cost concept in mind.

If you clean up the design a little it still is a neat looking 3wheeler Microcar.

and they sold a few...

I personal like this design, its to big, but still fun! A road going aircraft, a car that looks like nothing else on the road. Would an update of these sell today? Could you sell 300 of these today?

I like it too and for more info check:

A 3 wheeler version:

http://www.autocycles.org/bdtrike.html

You could update it with a Suzuki Burgman scooter engine and with a slightly revised design, it could still have appeal...smile

I then found an older glider body that would make a good starting point but got no further with the project.
That looks like a nice project and in my opinion you should continue working on it...smile

Good post and I trust you are well. I am still immersed with too many vehicles and insufficient time and energy to finish most of them. However I am determined to get another three wheeler Berkeley on the road and negotiating currently. Just bought an MGF which will be OTR by late April and with a heavily reworked high output K series fully rebuilt engine in the rear it should keep my summer motoring in the breeze going I hope!

These tilting three wheeler's raise a lot of questions IMO and offer few answers. I am convinced that a layout of a three wheeler like the Berkeley fitted out with modern mechanics (NOT the A series!! fat too heavy) such as a high output motorcycle engine would still more than hold its own against any other modern three wheeler. But no doubt some will say that I an biased towards Berkeleys. I am I love them!

Anyway I do appreciate the post and look forward to the replies.
Nice to see you back Steffan and hope things are well with you.

Tilting cabin threewheelers will become an interesting vehicle in future Urban environments...maybe, but just for fun and inexpensive motoring, nothing beats your Berkeley T60.

Maybe in todays roads, a modern 3cylinder car engine, something like a Toyota Yaris or Daewoo Matiz engine, might make for a perfect donor update for such a classic.

Just an idea...

I can only admire the results but I suspect costs are not low. Interesting to an admirer of three wheeler's like me and quite beautiful cars in themselves. I thank you fuoriserie.

The best video was this one and still very funny,

Can an body add to the imformation on this

This is the Feora, created in Los Angeles (USA) in about 1982 by Chuck Ophorst. Powered by a 175cc Honda engine the vehicle had a fibre glass body that resembls a 1950’s aeroplane. Access to the vehicle, as can be seen is via a lift up canopy door. A top speed of 92mph was claimed, I believed that the vehicle never went into production due to high costs.

Does anyone know more? I like the design and would like to see it in the fibre glass. I hope someone knows more!
The other night I was looking at the Feora specifications, top speed 92mph with 175cc is very impressive and was wondering what could be achieved with 2014 technology ? maybe it's time to get back on a new design project for 2015....smile

Hi I thought I would join this discussion.

My Eco Exo R has over 850 trouble free miles and is a joy to drive. It is small, reliable and pretty light weight at 572 LBS for the 2005 Burgman 400 pushing it.

It is my go to vehicle for rides in the country or grocery shopping.

This is my mini Ariel Atom and no way would I want to change anything from where it is now. ( Well maybe the carbon seat and custom rear LED lighting for the turn, brake, running and license plate lamps to finish it off.)

But I do keep an eye on the weather when taking it out.

The performance would suffer greatly if it was turned into a enclosed vehicle with the added weight needed for a enclosed body. This is for the Eco Exo R frame as it is now.

I also had a lot of people ask me if it could be enclosed and I reply with I take my other vehicle if rain is imminent.

But like many here I really would like to see a vehicle like the Fiora updated as a Kit vehicle.

The look of a streamlined enclose vehicle that is functional and dependable that could be built for under 20K US would have a following in todays world.

The problem in the US is the regulations that change from state to state so Polaris came out with the Slingshot to address these problems. It had to follow Type 1 regulations for all 50 states so they ended up with what you have now. Type 2 regulations are much tougher to pass including a max of 1500LBS so that is why they choose this route.
Wear your rain gear when things get wet, but properly prepared it will be a fun machine for the price. It is water proof in design.

A low cost and smaller Ecomobile is what I would like to see being designed. It gives the best of both worlds and would be a blast to drive.

But an updated Fiora would not be a bad choice either.

Edward

Hi Edward, thank you for your feedback.

I used the Feora as an example of an Aero Cabin Scooter Concept because the specifics were impressive for such a small capacity engine( 175cc).

I agree with you that the price would have to be lowcost( or try to) and maybe to lower the cost of the bodywork a mix of GRP and cloth might work....( maybe something like the Velorex : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Velorex)

The California Commuter is also very interesting...:
