New FMIC in mine soon and it used to have the old FMIC so they both fit.
I have found that the GRP has become more stable over time - doors stopped dropping on their own and the bonnet seems to have stiffened slightly too. I still might address the door hinge issue in the future but certainly not something on my to do list at mo.
Roof fits with no probs at all, the only issue I have is to get the window seals a bit nicer but after experience of VX220's and talking to other people (e.g. Lotus Porkers etc.)anything where the roof comes off or is a soft top has the potential to let a few drops in on some particular vehicles but not others.

My panels all seem fine from what I can remember! Certainly better than the VX220's I had, they blistered a lot and were different colours too.

Bonnet on mine is fine, the only thing I will change on that is a slightly longer cable that stops it toppling all the way over when it is in the up position. The bonnet stays there when it is up but I worry that a little bit of wind might catch it and slam the whole thing shut!
I moved the number plate from the grill to the horizontal bit of GRP under the grill and the bonnet still lifts with no probs.

My rear screen is just a couple of spade connectors.
Front screen: complete mystery...pixies?
Have to say front screen heating was bloody good except some of the elements have died now on driver side. Passenger side seems fine though!

Didn't like ABS when I was sprinting in the VX's and was bloody lethal at junctions (one wheel would hit some grit or a bump and then you had nothing at all!) so I decided not to have.
Clearly I will write up here one day that I smashed up my car cos I did not have ABS now I have said that!!!

Eddie - hoping to have mine back in a couple of weeks. REALLY hoping to have it back weekend after next but I know that is pushing it a bit - Phil is trying to get all things together but I imagine that it will be tricky and prob not likely but I know he is trying for it.

Ha ha I see it as a consumer testing service, either it will be doing the 350mile a week commute or I will be forced to get something else as well to commute in which would be a shame. I always felt that a trip to and from work in a fun car was a bit like therapy each day.

I think mine has foam rubber along that area to stop the very same thing from happening.

Isn't it coming up for winter where you are?
Perhaps somewhere halfway with some sun - is there a track on Goa?

Trackday does sound good though!
Tuition would also be great too.
Oh and ice creams.
Can we? can we? can we?
Pleeeaaaasse.

Sorry I have just got up and have not had any coffee yet!

Well there was some work necessary to rectify some pricey issues introduced from elsewhere it has to be said.
However it is done now so will just see how it copes with big commuting. Had forgotten quick how savagely rapid it was, laugh out loud silly!

Just completed one week of commuting. Casualties so far:
2 tanks of Shells finest
1 power steering hose
Power steering fluid
Alternator belt
Several pairs of underwear after giving it some beans on a couple of occasions, have not even flicked it over to the angry map yet!

Power steering hose got free and rubbed on alternator belt so the hose got eaten. Belt has decided that was too much and so had decided to join in and is in the process of dying.
Should not happen again as the hose is now resecured.
