Quick question about a Lotus 7 style kit
Discussion
Yes, I've heard of the Eldon. Later re-emerged as the Racecorp LAR (Light Auto Roadster - not to be confused with Ivan Gilmore's LA Gold). IIRC, it was allegedly designed and manufactured by a company with Formula Ford background.
Received good reviews at the time and the examples I saw looked well designed and fabricated. The bonnet is quite sharply styled (a little reminiscent of the Dutton) and it has rear wheelarches that sloped down from the tub to their outer edges. The wheelarches looked a little unhappy, but overall it was quite a smart looking Seven type and worth a punt if you find one at a reasonable price.

You got thet the wrong way round Racecorp LA Became Eldon which becam Razer.
Racecorp had their factory close to me when I lived in Bucks. When I went to see them they were constructing single seaters for racing in Italy. The LAR was designed to fill gaps in the production schedule. They had connections with the F1 racing world as well.
Hi, I am looking at several cars and I have taken a fancy to an Racecorp LA Lazer being offrerd for sale priced £5990. It has been rebodied and has a new set of alloys. I am very much in the dark as to the true value of these cars and I would like the opinions of members of this forum?
It depends on the specification (particularly engine fitted) and condition, but I'd say that for a relatively forgotten kit like the Eldon/Racecorp, £5,950 is well on the steep side unless it is very good in both respects.
For a car with a tuned Pinto or Crossflow engine and in very good condition, I'd suggest that £4-£4.5K was closer to the mark.
