Surely you only need take a mobile phone, toothbrush, credit and AA cards!!!

Wasn't the 3000M the first car to hit MIRA's test wall at 30mph and still be able to steer afterwards, so the spare wheel up front does have some use! (I suspect though that the bonnet was the other side of thes test centre after the impact)!

Is the Vixen a better choice? I believe it is about 240lb lighter than the 1600M but with similar BHP. Most of them are also road tax free. Has anybody discovered a suitable spacesaver spare wheel to alleviate the luggage space problem?

There is still loads of luggage space with the spare wheel in the back. Also how many punctures do you get a year????

Buy a vixen.

Neil.

I can recommend a Vixen, they're cheap, nice and very reliable cars. Try to get your hands on a 1700cc 135bhp Supersprint engine as used in the Caterhams and there will be rock and roll! I even went with mine on a two weeks camping trip from Munich to the New Forrest including tent, two chairs, table, a suitcase and the sparewheel. Who can ask for more?

Datsun 260Z, but you will need a compressor to inflate.

Nice one, Majo!
You can't beat a Taimar for practicality, access to the rear when loading or retrimming, extra access to petrol tank, rear lights, diff, brakes and chassis for oiling or cleaning. It's easier to get my bike in my Taimar than in the wife's Saxo.
This all providing the electronic release and gas struts works O.K though!
Post some piccys of it for us all to see!
