I have sought advice on this topic before but would just like some confirmation (and I've lost the piece of paper I had it all written on!)
I have been told that front tracking should be about 1/4° toe in. When I visited my local KWIK-FIT and told then I wanted 1/4° toe in they looked at me as if I'd just said "could you paint my toadstools pink please"! - They only deal in mm and didn't understand degrees. I calculated that on a 7'6" wheelbase 1/4° comes out at about 9 - 10 mm, that seems to be a hellova lot compared to most modern cars. Is this right or am I calculating it wrong?

Should you not be using the tyre/rim radius/diameter not the wheelbase?
Toe in is measured as difference in tracking between front and rear of the of tyre/rim.

Hi Phil,

Just looked it up in my well organised TVR database (only took me an hour;-)) and it says:

1/8" toe in front
1/16" toe in rear (this can't be right as i suppose it must be toe out?)

IMO you shouldn't go to the Kwik-Fit (in the netherlands at least) to have your car set up. You can mail David Gerald to check the data and then i would go to a specialist in setting up cars, he'll know what to do with this data because it's not uncommon and even the Slow Fit should know this!

Grtz and compliments on your car!

Hi,

I'm at the stage of setting the Tracking and Camber on my Vixen rebuild. Unfortunately I appear to have misplaced the Owners Manual which had the setting listed inside.

Did anyone get to the bottom of what the tracking should be set at?? Is it as quoted below? Was the rear setting toe-in or toe-out? Also Does anybody know what the Camber settings should be??

Any info appreciated.

Darren.
