GT revival gets underway
Silverstone sees classic GTs on track
Ever wondered what happens to old GT cars when their time is run?
Try the GT90s revival series. The performance of these cars, their design and the brands are synonymous with power and success. They created some amazing grids, thanks to the sheer numbers and diversity of the cars.
Through the 24 Hours of Le Mans and Daytona, the BPR series, the FIA GT Championship and the national series such as the Italian Supercar, IMSA Sueprcar, BRDC GT, ADAC GT Cup and the various single-seater series such as the Porsche Cup, Venturi Trophy, Ferrari Challenge & Lamborghini Supersport, many GT cars returned to the circuit, re-opening one of the most prestigious chapters in the history of Motorsport.
Throughout the 1990s, all the major makes in sportscar production were involved in GT racing, either officially or through private initiatives, sporadically or on a more regular basis.
These GT cars of the 1990s, original, sometimes unique, many of which have become real icons, have spent the last decade in garages or private collections.
The ‘GT90’s Revival Series’ aims to give their owners a unique opportunity to return to the tracks where they enjoyed their moments of glory, within the prestigious framework of the FIA GT Championship meetings. An FIA-sanctioned series, the GT90’s Revival will consist of just two events in 2007, which will take place at Silverstone in May and Nogaro, France, in September.

If you did run it, Graham, how do you think your car would fare against these GT beasts of old?
think thats on the cards for me to go
I'll answer that as having agreed with SRO that the Tuscan Challenge cars are eligible, I now have confirmed with them that Tuscan #6 will be entered in GT3.
The article says GT3 will be cars from 'single seater' series, but it does of course mean single marque series from the 1990s. The Tuscans were one of fastest one make series in the 1990s, so we should be extremely competitive in the GT3 class. We will, of course, be absolutely mullered by the McLaren F1 GTR, Porsche 911 GT1 etc etc...
The article also says the second race is at Nogaro - but it is at Hockenheim on 13/14 October.
As a team we will continue to push ahead with the build of our new Sagaris V8, but are very excited at the opportunity to race the Tuscan at this type of meeting. We will announce our driver line up shortly and are actively seeking sponsors for the Silverstone meeting, which also includes the FIA GT round (the RAC Tourist Trophy). The race will attract a great deal of attention. For more info please drop us a line at info@teamholdenracing.com

And Simon, ProSport 3000s were a single-make series, weren't they? Don't see why it shouldn't be eligible for the GT3 class.
