Just had to share that with everyone as I'm very excited. I've spent most of the afternoon going over it and seeing what needs doing. In short, alot needs doing as the car is only loosely together after being rebuilt so I need to basically go over every nut, bolt and hose, get some engine/gearbox mounts put in, put an engine/gearbox in, wire everything up, add some fixings here and there which have gone missing and generally give it a good going over.

That said, the car its self is in fantastic condition, even the underside is gleaming! Should make a good racer by the time I'm finished smile Probably not for the beginning of the season though I'm thinking unless I pull something special out of the bag!

By the way, if anyone has any info on this car, I'd love to hear! This is what I've dug up so far...

- Built in 1989 for Andrew Usher
- Sold to Team Central in 1993
- Run by Streber in 1995, driven by Ian Flux as number 22, bagging 9 wins after being converted to AJP
- Rebuilt in Winter 1995/1996 and painted yellow.
- Won first race out after its rebuild and kept on winning until Flux's new (met green) car was ready.
- The car was then raced by Bobby Verdon Roe as number 23 for the rest of the season until the last race at Donnington where Flux and Verdon Roe swapped cars for a bet. (Flux won the championship in 1996 so this car is sort of a championship winner?!)
- 1997 the car was driven on and off by Matt Doman
- Sold in 1998 to Amanda Whitaker, it was run as number 27a as Amanda's training car in white and yellow.
- Late 1998/1999 it went over to Sweden along with another car to be run by Ulf Eriksson under Backa Event Motorsport in the Nordic Supercar Challenge for the next 8 years. Various rebuilds and modifications made.
- 2007 the engine came to England for a rebuild where it stayed and the car sat under a sheet shortly after a rebuild where it remained for the next 2 years for a couple of reasons (the main one being that it was too fast for the series and the team refused to add any more weight to it - already ran with lead plates up to 1250Kg!)

So that's all I know about the car, if anyone has any photos, footage or info on the car from any of these stages in it's life, I'd love to see them smile

Glad you've finally got it home mate - really smart looking motor! Hope you get it sorted sooner rather than later!!

Had me first drive of the newly aquired addition to CTS Racing today, lots of fun with old slicks and a damp (private) road, lol! Needs the seat and pedals moving about a bit (pedals gettin sorted before a local trackday end of this month), get the motor out and rebuilt and should be ready for race 1 of 2010 - can't wait!!

Hmm, where would this be found?? If you mean the one in the driver's foot well, mine doesn't have one. There is a removable panel in the engine bay which allows pretty good access to the top of the foot well which reveals the pedal box. Both of the brake masters and the clutch master are mounted on this pedal box so I guess the setup has been changed. I can't remember what's supposed to be there though!

Any idea at all? 90's 00's?? Have you got your car yet Mike? I seem to remember a friend on here (Wildfire) saying that you were local. Where abouts are you? I'm down in Caterham...

Nice one Nick, Looks like you got the bug
you decided what engine you putting in yet,
If you going Rv8 I think Mickey still has a nice 5.0
I wish I had a garage that big to work in.

Indeed, the bug has been there for quite a while now, was just waiting for a steady income and the right car to come up for sale. smile Engine wise, It comes with a 4.5 AJP but it needs a rebuild as it's spun a bearing. Provided then that the block is alright, I'll use this as I've already got new pistons and rods for it, and the engine has brand new valve gear, cams, steel crank and a set of recon heads in it. We shall see though when it's been opened up and inspected (if JR ever gets it out of his workshop that is!). If I come across some sort of horror then I'll look at my options and maybe consider an LS or supercharged RV8.

Yes the garage is a bit of a god send, though the Chim now has to live outside frown I've just bought a bloody big industrial fan heater to go in there, so I should be all set for the next few weeks of work! Just need a set of ramps and it would be perfect...

Hi Tom! Hope you're well mate! Thanks for the comments on the car; it is indeed the sister car to Danny's, though Danny's came to England via another owner whereas mine came straight from the bloke who used to run them both. Looks to be a good'un but I've got a lot of work to do on it before its ready to move under its own steam. Been working on the wiring loom this weekend: the old one was a bit of a mix from various owners and had lots of bodges and addons so I've just pulled it all out and started again. Quite a daunting task but I think I've got my head around it!

Yeah the roof looks pretty much OEM which is nice, and although its not the perfect shape aero-wise, it looks like it will make the wing work pretty nicely so it should go around corners quite well! Not sure on colour yet, I've got a few ideas in my head, though the whole shell inside is painted orange, with not a single bit of glass anywhere missed, so it would make sense to keep it that way and try and work the colour scheme around an orange interior. I might wait until I bend it though as I've got plenty of other things to be spending my money on at the moment!

Hopefully though, if I get it done in time, I'll see you out for 2010!

Nick, have a look at John Reid web site, go to parts for sale, flick through to Tuscan roof for sale side view and there is a picture of your car at the motor show- I think!

So it is! Good spot, thanks for that! It looks exactly like it does now so I guess it can't be very old (3 years tops I would think). I've emailed JR to see if he has any more photos/info...

Glad your car is coming along nicely! I'll have to come have a look when it's delivered so I've got some idea of what to aim for when mine's finished. Not sure I'll be able to get anywhere near the bar set by yours though... You're more than welcome to pop down and see the car whenever. I'll be working on it most of this weekend as it's got to go off to get some engine mounts put in next weekend so I'd like to get a few things finished on it. It'll then be away for a couple of weeks while I'm off on holiday, then it should be back again towards the second half of December. So I guess this weekend or late December would be best! I'm sure you'll be disgusted at the state of it after seeing yours though hehe

Might be worth giving Richard at Dulford automotive a call, as I believe he done a lot of the race prep for Ian Flux in 1996ish. He may be able to tell you some more info.
