Inverview in the Times today about Hamilton, saying that he may consider leaving Britian if interest in him gets any higher. Although he did mention the tax reasons as well

Leaving Britain, ie. McLaren, Why would he leave? I hear Italy is a nice place to live
James Allen's a c0ck

I doubt it - whats the betting he has at least a 5 year contract to Mclaren... but you can understand with the way the press is in this country, especially since he seems pretty grounded.

pistuphead is also a c0ck

It was with regards to being famous, not interest from other teams.

Stuart

Thats what i was agreeing with - rather than PUH who was inferring something else...

Though at least we know why you watched this one stuart, you got a whole 2 minutes of your beloved schumi hehe

Looked very much like something (that shouldn't be moving) was moving scratchchin
I think it was just an aerodynamic fairing for the steering arm. Not going to help the airflow over the suspension arms, but not too worrying - there are a couple of curbs they monster on that track which could have been enough to dislodge it.

Yes Fidgits I read it as he would consider leaving if interest from other teams increased, apologies

Movable aerodynamic bits are a not allowed, are they. Oh forgot it was on a Ferrari

I'm going to record the re-run to check it out.

It was part of the bodywork that shrouds the steering arm, looked like the fastener at that point holding it to the tub had failed. That in itself wouldnt have been a problem for the car mechanically, probably knocked 0.01s off the aero eficiency.

DC was the man of the race today thumbup

10/10 for Alonso trying to take Massa on the first turn. However, what a reckless way to rejoin the race! How he managed not to get wiped out is beyond me confused

Noticed that too but I doubt Ferrari would have allowed a camera to be mounted so close to a questionable piece of kit...

Yes DC drove very well today - proof that us old'uns are not past it

Alonso nearly took out Lewis and Kimi when he came back on to the track. Lewis made some comment about it in the press conference.

Very good point.

Still going to check it out - just out of interest.

Thats exactly how I want them to behave, show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser etc etc. What are we watching here, a personality contest or hardcore motor racing?

James Allen's a c0ck

Hahahah True. The race was bloody boring apart from the first 10sec. And the alteration too the race track really did make for fantastic over taking? tumbleweed

Blimey these 'races' are getting better everyday!!!!

Forget Flav's idea of two races, lets just have a 1 lap race because nothing else happens after that...

Oh and we have Monaco to look forward to now, a track which has soooo much overtaking.

I can not remember the last race I watched without fast forwarding now.

Come on guys give us some bloody racing will you, as F1 is starting to get very very boring!

Not a bad race at all. There was some (but not much) overtaking but there was still quite a bit of incident - coming togethers, wheel nuts falling off in the pits, refuelling fires and quite a few mechanical breakdowns (by today's standards).

So, all in all, an entertaining thing to watch on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Im with you Wayne.

I said:

Hate to point it out but the top 3 (maybe more?) have been set in stone 10 laps before the end for nearly every race this season hasnt it? Anyone know for sure?

...but predictably, none of the diehard "F1 is still edge of the seat stuff" crew wanted to comment.

I also said:

Nice bit of pit-to-car audio there clearly demonstrating that actually overtaking on the track is a last resort for the teams rolleyes

...but that was quietly ignored too.

I created this thread (along with the other race threads) to generate comment about the races, which clearly they have done. Sadly there's always a tendency from the childish to try to degenerate the thread into a whinge because F1 is too complicated for them to follow and why can't there be more big accidents etc.

Clearly it can't be that dull if they're still watching it...

Why should we? I meet people who are passionate about football - something that leaves me cold - but I don't continually try to tell them that the sport they love is crap. rolleyes

Spyker: Both cars finished!! Yea!! Still very, very slow. Same as last time.

Torro Rosso: Getting quicker this race which is good sign, Speed might have got a points finish without the tyre blow out. Better.

Red Bull: Still improving. One Lap Aussie seemed to having all the bad luck this race which was a shame because The Mighty Chin did very well. Definetly getting quicker, podiums before long I think.

Honda: Just when you think it can't get any worse, Mr Henman crashes into his own team mate. And the car was much better this race too, a points finish might have been on the cards given the amount other people were dropping off. Loved Brundles comment about if they got rid of the dodgy paint scheme it would add 2 seconds to the cars pace.

Toyota: Tale of two cars again. Trulli looked quick and interested all weekend, unlucky to have a problem. Ralf however, needs to have a very serious word with himself. "I'am sure I have a drive next year," Yes Ralf I'm sure you will. I hear Super Aguri need someone to look after the motorhome.

Williams: Again one car good, one car unlucky. Shame for Wurz but again Rosberg creeped into the points towards the end. This seems to be the Williams game plan, come on strong towards the final stint and its working.

Super Aguri: Another great performance and well deserved points at last. Shame it wasn't Davidson who scored them but Sato drove a good race and no one would begrudge this hard working and discreet team their first scoring result.

Renault: Again tale of two cars. Coffee Morning drove the wheels off his and for the performance of the car well deserved his points. I would imagine his P45 has been put back in Flavios drawer.Fishfinger was barely there all weekend

BMW: Steady again apart from the pit lane cock up. But that happens to any competitive team and actual proves they are really trying. Gave Alonso a fright mid race and will get a podium soon. The car even looks good.

Mclaren: Still Our Lewis (tm) continues to excel. Quiet race really but yet again got the job done. Leading the championship, how bizarre is that. Alonso is looking like a man whose been slapped with a big wet fish. This is not what he was expecting and I'm sure the team orders conversation with Big Ron will occur very shortly. I'd love to be a fly on the wall for that one.

Ferrari: This is going to be the best soap opera since Dallas. Samba Boy (£2m a season) made Caveman Kimi (£16m a season) look very silly indeed. The Cavemans behaviour this weekend will not have gone down well in Maranello. You don't stalk off in a huff when the teams former golden boy turns up to say hi and you certainly don't storm off early when the cars goes bang. NOT a team player. Where as Samba Boy smiles, hangs out with the mechanics, hugs Michael and then strolls to an easy victory. Very soon there will be a team orders conversation and that is going to be very interesting. Again to be a fly on the wall for that one.

Oh and according to Mr Allen, some the cars were on Michelins. Anybody else catch that?
