I can't work out if this means Rob austin can only run one car the rest of the year??? It says his TBL licence has been revoked for the hunter abbot car, but that it is still valid for remaining races??

I think that's a bit unfair TBH. Not a lot of guys have won two titles.
Admittedly using Wikipedia, I just found 15 guys have won the BTCC twice or more, which is a lot more than I had imagined it to be. I wouldnt call myself a Plato fan, but think he is one of the best drivers on the grid. As much as I don't necessarily agree with it, he uses the rules and image of the championship to his advantage and knows exactly how to play the game. It is without doubt though that he has missed out on chances to add to that tally, particularly in the SEAT years, where things never quite went right. designndrive62 said:

I don't understand that either,revoked but still valid.http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/120471

Makes no sense.
Maybe they should've asked Paul O'Neill to drive it...
Jason has 92 wins yet only 2 titles. I would consider that a poor return in terms of wins-championships and I'm sure it wrankles a little. However if he had won all the championships he's been in contention for he could have been a 7 or 8 time champion by now. I think if he was the driver he is now, back then, he would have won more titles due to taking less risks, driving for the win etc.
But hey, I'd rather have 92 BTCC wins, 2 titles, a nice country pad and a Porsche than be sat in an office typing this!

RAR can carry on with two cars this season and, provided they make all the races, they'll keep the both TBLs next season. One is just suspended for the remainder of this one - I'm not sure they had any choice under the rules.

The original plan was for another driver to be in the car all weekend, but funding fell through at the last minute, so Hunter stepped back in. Apparently they did ask if Simon Belcher could step in on Sunday morning, but the stewards refused.

Sorry dumb moment i'm still lost.. RAR only started with two licences, one has been suspended for the remainder of the season (is that what you mean by 'one is suspended for the remainder of this one'? but they are still allowed to race two cars? Or is it like a suspended sentence and if they don't get both cars to the remaining races then the licence is revoked from next year?RAR can carry on with two cars this season and, provided they make all the races, they'll keep the both TBLs next season. The latter I think. Team Dynamics got both of their TBL's suspended last year (until 31/12/15).Basically it means they've lost their right to return with the car in next season and have to apply along with anyone else that wants to enter BTCC.
Frankly I'm surprised that TOCA have done this given the leniency shown elsewhere, particularly given the indisputable reason for a driver not turning up compared to some fairly spurious excuses knocking around at times!

Why are the licenses even needed at the moment though? The grid isnt at capacity.
Apparently it was behind closed doors. There was meant to be 32 cars on the grid(3rd mg fell through at the last minute) with nick Hamilton being the 33 driver as a guest. That is why he only done half the season and missed knockhill as knockhill can only run 32 but the other tracks can run more.It doesn't mean nothing unless they do something else ie what happened with Honda last year or the year before its a warning another problem then will become a loss of a license.

Are you sure they've withdrawn the TBL for next year? The announcement seems to suggest it's only been suspended for the rest of this season? The post on btcc.net is so badly worded it's almost impossible to work out what they actually mean.Frankly I'm surprised that TOCA have done this given the leniency shown elsewhere, particularly given the indisputable reason for a driver not turning up compared to some fairly spurious excuses knocking around at times!

I enjoyed my annual BTCC fix at Knockhill. Did anyone else who attended come home with bad sunburn or was it just me
I've uploaded a few of my snaps to FB if anyone is interested (includes a few of the grid girls ) https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10571260...
