I do believe this accident prompted Brundle's retirement.
I think it was the lack of a suitable contract for 1997 that prompted Brundle's retirement. I believe Sauber were the only team to potentially offer him anything. He then went back to racing proper cars at Le Mans biggrin

I do always chuckle at his quote fot the Jordan crash though. To paraphrase
