Definitely Donnington although the photo is from an earlier meeting than the screen shots, in my opinion.

For a start off, the car is bearing different race numbers and in a different format.

The SEAC was originally run for Steve by the Factory, as shown in the photo, but laterly was run under the David Gerard banner, and was sign written accordingly.

Herman the German was the Team Manager through out this period, as I recall, and the Chairman, Peter Wheeler attended most meetings.

Happy days!

What a superb array of cars. That 450SEAC was (still is) one hell of a piece of kit !

Do you have said footage that you can load up onto here ?
The car shown was the works car, driven by Steve Cole, and I think the Porsche alongside is Richard Chamberlain

Nah, that's a real 935 and looks very much like a K3. With that in mind I'd say that's John Greasley, who went on to form G-Force, who later campaigned the various Blue Coral 911s in GT racing.

Yes the photo and video are different days, I was just using the video to verify the track

XJ13 - sorry no idea.

It was a 420 SEAC (although later enlarged to 4.5)

Can't be the original XJ13, that was wrecked by Norman Dewis in 71, and not rebuilt until only recently. That photo must have been around the late 80's (88 ish). The XJ13 is likely to be the Lynx replica..

Still, love the SEAC, total beast of a car.

I remember that car very well.Raced against it lots of times in the late eighties.
Always remember it up on axle stands warming gearbox & diff, What a wonderfull sound it made before the noise police got involved & helped to spoil motorsport!

Would be interested to know what race series it was, early years of the now defunct Roadsports perhaps?

Are you referring to the TVR or the Porker ?

I think it could be a 750MC Roadsports event - they were very well supported then with good grids. I think the small buildings in the distance could be the old bar/cafe building which stood on the top of the bank by Starkey's. It was certainly there in the late 70's/early 80s when I first visited Donington.

Talking of Herman, I remember a Birkett at Snetterton in the late 80s when he ran a team of TVRs called 'Herman's Hermits' - I found an old vid a few weeks ago which has a couple of very short clips with what looks like a red Griff. I was running in Kits in those days.

And the 935K3 was a real one, I think, as it too was out in a Birkett around that time, John Greasley driving.

Definately Donington. Wasn't the circuit upgraded / widened in 1993 for the European GP?

Well, judging by the look of that monstrous black Porsche, the first bend is a right hander... wink

It could possibly have been the Intermarque Series, or even the BARC Sports & Saloon Series, ....which I sponsored 1987 -89, as The 1275 GT Centre/ Howley Racing Sports & Saloons. Hi to Pete Edwards, again!

I've helped run a car in that series since that period, It would have been a maguire Imp back then before moving onto an Esprit. Still plenty of the same crowd competing although Suggy stopped racing recently, still a winner in his 70's biggrin

I think they look too road car biased to be the BARC Sports Saloons, if that's the front of the grid.

The 2nd picture might be Oulton Park, exiting the old knickerbrook corner as you can see a stone wall in the background, which might be the perimiter wall of the Park which is very close at Knickerbrook.

Can't be Croft as that was shut at the start of the 80's and not re-opened for circuit racing (non Rallycross stuff) until the middle 90's. Plus I don't recognise the fence as being from there!
