Obscure race and rally cars
Discussion
Ok, so none of these are race cars, but still special.
Renault Espace, but basically a Williams FW15C underneath
BMW X5 LM concept. Jorg Muller ran this at the Goodwood FoS a few years ago and it was frighteningly fast. Powered by the same engine as the McLaren F1 and BMW V12 LMR. I'm sure Flemke can add some fles to the bones of this one.
Ford Transit Supervan. Based on GT40 running gear
Ford Transit Supervan 2. Based on C100 running gear
Ford Transit Supervan 3. Powered by HB F1 engine.
Lamborghini Muira Jota. Test plot Bob Wallace's obsession in hs spare time. He changed pretty much everything, including the orientation of the engine. It was destroyed by a rich and careless owner in a road accident IIRC. Might have allowed Lambo to go racing.

Alfa Romeo 164 Procar. Bernie's silhouette series running to 3.5L atmo regs. like Group C. Developed to showcase the idea by Brabham (and some say ruined the team in the process!) and apparently on F1 car pace during testing. No idea where it is now!
I think there is a video of this on Youtube. Its only a few seconds long though.Stack said:

I never knew Subaru had a crack at anything to do with F1...does anyone have any more history on this?I love seeing these obscure cars!!

The boys at BMW Motorsports had an extra engine for an F1LM lying around, so they decided to fit it into an X5 for fun. Beefed up the suspension, etc.http://www.99clips.net/en/musicvideo.php?vid=66a68...

BRM P351. Developed at the end of Group C. It failed to qualify for Le Mans in Wayne Taylor's hands, was powered by a development of the Weslake V12 which Dan Gurney used in 1966 and 1967!
Dan's GT40 was a V8, not a V12. Nic Jones said:
Thinking of Transits, did you see the standard looking van that was the test mule for the XJ220 running gear? I saw it at the FOS and it even had the compulsory, Sun, Mars Bar and bottle of Coke on the dashboard!
Yeah I did see that. Don Law bought it up along with all sorts of other bits from Jaguar for the XJ220 I believe and his son Justin demonstrated it with his usual "verve". Amazing!shirt said:

WANT!i also remember the aixam ice racer. the aixam website alludes to the fact they still manufacture them, which would be slightly more interesting than the plastic deathboxes they're more well known for!
