As a massive 'motor racing' fan I just don't like F1.

It's financially contrived, politically fuelled motorsport, not 'motor racing'. We all know they'll simply get a slap on the wrist unlike McLaren a few years ago. I'll happily eat my words if it's any different and perhaps change my view until then.............

Team points removed. Race result stands.
Which means no one moves up a position - Ferrari just loose points. It's not a big deal to them. They're not in the running to win the constructors and they're guaranteed 3rd position. It's not like Mercedes are going to catch them !

Any of the ten following outcomes:

1) No further punishment.
2) Ferrari fined again.
3) Ferrari disqualified from the 2010 constructors championship.
4) Ferrari team to do 72 hours of community service and told not to do it again or else.
5) Mclaren fined just for the hell of it.
6) Mclaren disqualified from the 2010 constructors championship for being in the same race.
7) J. Todt receives brand new flame proof 458 pending outcome of the hearing.
8) G. Stoker receives brand new flame proof 458 pending outcome of the hearing.
9) F. Alonso has to smile at all remaining races in the 2010 championship.
10) R. Smeadly has to be referred to by Ferrari team members as Fredo.

I voted 'screwed' because I think they'll dock them of the drivers' points which will screw Alonso's chance for the title biggrin

I believe that the team should be docked all the points and the drivers should have their places reversed, including points, prize funds and anything else they get.

They can't reverse the places, there's no contingency in the regulations for that for obvious reasons.

They should lose their drivers and constructors points for that race. A fine would be meaningless unless it's large, but I think a points deduction is the right thing to do.

Sky News are reporting that Ferrari have been found guilty and as a result Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button have been thrown out of the chamipnship and Red Bull have had all their constructors points removed.

I'm guessing loss of constructors points for that race (and potentially removal of drivers points for that race too) combined with a fine and/or suspended race ban.

Early reports on twitter say they've got away with it...

"President of Italy's CSAI motorsport fed says FIA decided no further sanction for Ferrari. Upheld fine and to review rules."

Hmm makes a complete mockery of the rule then. If they don't change it before this weekend we'll see it happen again and it won't be discrete over the radio.
