IThe anger isn't about paying money per se, it's the profiteering by a morally questionable organisation.
Ahh, you must mean the BBC.I have to say, I've watched the first two races of the year on Sky, and have found the coverage good.
The made a nice little BBC-esque film piece for the Malaysian GP, and the whole thing came together very well. Yes the speaking trio aren't as good as Jake/EJ/DC, but that trio has been broken up now too They've learned a lot from the BBC coverage - like making sure we here the 'driver discussion' in parc ferme before the podium.
As long as I can continue to watch a whole race start to finish with no ad breaks, I'll stay happy.

I particularly like the commentary in comparison to the BBC. Sure Crofty can get a bit overexcited at times and all commentators make minor mistakes but he's got nothing on the BBC shouty bloke. Caught some of the highlights and he's bloody awful.Dr Interceptor said:

What about pre-post race? Blinking heck! Lots of Blinking required then.
No blinking need with BBC coverage pre-post or during ...
As "during" with the BBC was on the radio, you can blink as much as you like all the way through. No blinking need with BBC coverage pre-post or during ...
Always another viewpoint depending on your point of view... or, viewing ... T'is not all bad news. Then catch up with BBC's highlights ... l8r.
As an unexpected bonus, either BBC Radio's James Allen commentary skills have improved considerably since his ITV Live TV commentary days or it's far easier on the ears with no pictures. I believe a bit of both.
.... and no POXY commercial breaks! MASSIVE bonus ..

Lets take a break. Don't go away now ...
I must have blinked and missed the ad breaks during the race...No blinking need with BBC coverage pre-post or during ...
Pre & post race coverage is much of a muchness between the stations. Although I'm not a huge fan of Lazenby and, oddly enough, miss the EJiot (but not DC) I find things like ted & his notebook plenty engaging enough to make up for it.
I guess some folk will always look for excuses to denigrate one side or the other just because it's not their chosen side no matter what the reality is.

I just recorded it on Sky and watched it later. No adverts.
For the BBC ones I'll probably watch/record the BBC coverage rather than Sky. <Gallic shrug>
Flexibility and pragmatism, on PH???For the BBC ones I'll probably watch/record the BBC coverage rather than Sky. <Gallic shrug>
I tend to watch the coverage starting a bit late and play catch-up through the preamble. I did the same on the BBC as there's always an element of filler in the pre-race show.

Do you know how good that makes me feel as an allen/legard veteran? I didn't mean to get involved in all the inane sky v. beeb sob sob BS but if this is what PPV does for you count me in (spoken as one of the "I-wont-pay-for-sky-sports mindset, but got F1 through having sky HD in place anyway)

I don't think I could justify the sports on top of HD+ just for F1 having already dropped the movies a while back because we don't watch much TV but, like you, we were already HD subscribers.Gassing Station | General Motorsport | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
