F1 to be shown on Sky Sport from 2012
Discussion
I'm sure they will spend money on it (Sky). I'm sure they will find some commentators who know a Ferrari from a HRT.
But I object to spending money on Sky. I'd rather pay a race by race sub to the BBC. Morally I don't like paying money to Murdoch (esp after recent events).
So, I think I might be someone that watches all the BBC ones that are available, and for the balance, downloads the full races a day afterwards from the 'net. Or watch RTL coverage via some means and stick 5 live on as an overlay.
Was there any mention of radio coverage?

I guarantee they will not show F1 on the same Sky Sports channel every time. (That way you could save money and subscribe to only one channel) Oh No – you will see it bounce from SS1 to SS2 and 3 from one weekend to the next, thereby ensuring you have to subscribe to the “Full Sports Package” at twice the price, because you have no idea which channel it will be on.
wkers.
I bet they put practice, qualifying and the race all on different channels due to 'scheduling conflicts' or some crap. wkers.

Disgusted by this news. I hate Sky and 10 minute advert breaks at the best of times, but I'm not paying more to watch half a season. Such a massive shame as it really is the only thing I ever really watch on TV anymore and am so passionate about.
The BBC have nailed it since their takeover from ITV, but the sport just seems to change overnight these days and no one seems to be able to keep their hands away from it and just leave things the fk alone.
Sky, you can fk off with your OTT sports package. I'd rather bankrupt myself by personally attending every race on the calendar than have to watch half the season at home on the beeb and pay the money-grabbing wkers for the privilege of watching the rest.

The BBC will have highlights on TV, online and mobile for any race it it is not showing live, and all races will be broadcast on BBC Radio 5 live.
Having watched F1 for 25 odd years it's a shame that I will now only get to see half of the races of a sport that I love. I refuse to buy SKY, always have and always will.<goes to dust off the radio>
After the BBC doing a fantastic job and getting veiwing figures for F1 to the highest in TEN years, they go and fk it up by sharing 50/50 with Sky.
Same with the Champions League... I can watch the 1st leg at home, then have to go to the fing pub to watch the 2nd leg, and can't see fk all anyway because there's always some fing cnt standing in the fing way .
That's it, I'm going for a lie down

That could be the case, as on VM SS 1 & 2 are an extra £14.50 or £25 depending on which package you currently have, whilst for SS 1,2,3 & 4 it is £22.50 or £28.
Plus £7 a month for HD!
Think we all need to get tweeting Jake during the forum on Sunday about this, bet they won't talk about though.

I've barely missed a single race in 15 years and very much enjoy every F1 weekend. However, I have no interest in other sports and do not plan to spend, what, £20 extra a month(?) to watch 1 race, possibly with adverts throughout (assuming every other race is shown on free TV).
Bernie, you're a c**t

Simple question - What do you think they will prioitise in the event of a clash between F1 or Man Utd vs. "Somebody else"..?Sky have more rights to sports major sports events than they have channels to put them on.
Oh - That's right, that's why they have the raft of pay-per-view Box Office channels. Place your bets now. How long before F1 on PPV..
