F1 to be shown on Sky Sport from 2012
Discussion
Eric, that might be a bit more wish full thinking than reality, I've got Sky and did recently upgrade to HD in order to get the F1 coverage, I will certainly be giving Sky a good chance to see what the coverage is like. If it lives up to the hype then in my living room at least there will be no more BBC, if the coverage is crap then I will revert to the BBC, but only time will tell and there is no way of speculating yet till we've seen what "the full sky treatment" really is, the trailers at least show a lot of potential.

Just niticed that on the live testing feed on the sky-f1 website they've announced that the F1 Channel (408) has gone live.
At work so can't see it - anyone near a TV??
Chris

Currently listing the teams and giving a bit of info about them.
Edited to add, it seems to be more Sky advertising the F1 channel's features and programs.
Looking good.

My hunch is that on the days when there is live coverage on both channels, even those who have got the option of Sky will probably watch most of the race on BBC.
Disagree. They'll stick with Sky to get Brundle commentatingAnd Edwards is a pretty good commentator in his own right.

Yup, I just stumbled across this whilst pissing about with my Dreambox. All working fine here. 28.2E 12108 27500 FEC(auto) 0963:051A.
This channel is not running Free To Air - I just tested that. Our Sly box downstairs with no sports or HD can see it at the moment, so at the moment it's a lower Tier channel, but you need to be plugged into a sly card in some way to see these pictures, as said it's just a loop of adverts and promotion at the moment.
Anyone struggling to get this channel on their TV is welcome to contact me via PM and I will happily provivide advice on other satellites, providers, hardware and many more options to watch it.

Best bit about it going to sky, their not employing Eddie Bloody Jordan.
I'll agree with that.I'd sooner it was on BBC, but I don't really care. If it cost me extra to watch it I would have been a bit upset, and if there were ad breaks during the race I'd be really annoyed, but already having a Sky HD subscription means it doesn't cost me anything and as there are no ad breaks during the race I'm quite happy. I'm not a great fan of Sky, but I don't much like the BBC either, and no EJ is a definite bonus.

Yup same as you, plus BBC didn't want it so I will not entertain their half arsed attempt. I'd sooner it was on BBC, but I don't really care.
