Big yay for the 888 pairing, I know the MG is a bit long in the tooth now but it's still decent in the right hands. Great to see a couple of young talents prevail too.

Oh Wookie, you're only going to be driving one of the best looking cars on the grid! Congratulations on securing the drive clap

Thanks chaps! It was a last minute surprise, I literally had a meeting with Nathan at Century about this year on a Friday a couple of weeks ago and woke up to a text from Shaun at 8am on the Saturday morning, with the deal done on the Sunday!

Really wasn't expecting it.

Can we blag a PH pit tour Ollie? I know Oulton 2014 wasn't that successful (both with the car and the meet!) but will be attending a few rounds this year.
Hopefully can't be worse than the Proton so give us something to cheer wink

No probs at all, obviously! The permanent chaos of that year pretty much precluded anything sensible or organised so we should manage something a bit better this time round!

Anyway I was more or less permanently pissed off that year so it wouldn't have been much fun unless you could handle half an hour solid of bitter sarcasm!

I was literally going to ask what your plans were for this year Ollie, fully expecting you to continue in the Ginettas for another year and challenge for some wins. It's great you're back in the BTCC fold with arguably the best livery of all the cars this year. But the A3 hasn't really done much apart from scrabble round at the back of the grid the past couple of years. Do you honestly feel you can get it up there in the mix? Hope so!! tank

Fingers crossed there's been some "re-engineering" of that A3.

Good to see you back though Wookie.

I've had a good look at the car and all the ingredients are there; it's light, it's longish wheelbase, it's aerodynamic, it's got a willie poole shell so is stiff, and it's got a Swindon engine with excellent cooling. I remember it being a rocket down the straights even when Robb Holland had it, so there's nothing wrong with it in a straight line.

I think it's just the fact that it hasn't had someone in it (or in it long enough) to set it up properly. Talking to Rob at AmD who runs the car about the different setups they've tried I think they'd just about found what the secrets are with NGTC's towards the end of the season, but I don't think they've had long enough to refine it.

As long as the damper valving is OK I reckon we should be able to get it decent pretty quickly.

I believe last year you had to pop off and collect parts for the car (lawnmower for its engine?)
I'll try and get a meet organised.

Thankfully I wasn't in it last year but I did hear rumours that parts of a golf buggy were sacrificed to undertake a repair!...

strangely I've already got this one hehe

I was looking forward to a year off from fearing for my life as it wasn't on the Ginetta package this year but hey ho! hehe
