Rob Austin drew his own number to reverse position to pole.

How had 'looked at video of the draw' and to make sure of fair play, decided to redraw for the reverse grid himself. He drew Rob Austin hehe
hahahah brilliant whats the chances of that happening.

Rob just admitted he had a peak before picking the number out. Could he win this rd think it will be a 3rd different winner.

Just shows what a joke this "draw" is.
Don't understand why they let the drivers do it.

16th wasn't it ?.....epic prediction fail......wobble
25 seconds behind 6th place
Got up to 13th at one point then went backwards then again had the soft tyre which didn't help him.

First meeting of 2015 nice to see new drivers up there and a mix of podium finishers and winners 3 different winners in 3 races hopefully that will continue to the next round.
The weight well it effected collard but not plato until the crash so hard to see what effects the weight will have on various teams/cars.

Support races were good to see higher grid numbers in all series some moves where um very btcc like unlike the btcc today which was pretty clean apart from a few incidents.

The new 2nd race rule I like stops the race 1/2 domination and also helps drivers that have had a bad race 1.
Things should settle down by thruxton where teams and drivers settle into the new year/car/teams etc.

I enjoyed the racing today.

What has happened to Motorbase?

One of my shots from the testing during the week.

r

Motorbase has entered the championship but due to losing airways sponsers haven't raised the budget and should be out later on in the year along with nick Hamilton in the amd s3 audi.

Shame that, they are a solid team. Thanks for the info mate.
Its a big lose of sorts I still think they be out earlier though just a shame to be down 2 competitive cars on top of what we already have.

Impressed by goff to day was there to pick up the points and was hussling neal at the end. Think this year will be the one just to score plenty of point coincidently will be up there at the end. Going to be very interested year as always with the btcc.

No surprise to hear that drivers will no longer be allowed to do the grid draw..

Only saw the first half of the 3rd race, so looking forward to catching up with yesterdays races later.
That has got to be the biggest embarrassment for the organisers for many years. Austin is crying on his Facebook page for everyone to forgive him, it wasn't really his fault. And all the sycophantic fanboys are patting him on the shoulder and saying "There, there, you're really a good boy."

I bet his sponsors are unimpressed with such unprofessional conduct.

But the fact that he was still allowed to stay on pole beggars belief.
Lets be honest he isn't the first to do it gio did it last year at one meeting to do the same thing. Also its not the worst thing a btcc driver has done. He realised it was wrong and have said he's sorry for what he's done.

Gow has now said no drivers or members releated to teams will draw the number.

The same thing?

That quite a strong accusation! Are you saying that Fabrizio cheated in the same way that Austin did, or that he simply drew "his own" ball?
It looked liked the same thing Austin did and a few others have picked up on it as well. Its not a hard thing to have a quick look before picking your number up as Austin proved. Hopefully now with drivers not drawing the balls this wont happen again.

WOW what a last race action packed from start to finish if this is the signs of the season ahead it will be a good one.

Hugely impressed with cook and the power max team to be running this competitively so early on in the year if it weren't for the safety car I think he may have won that race, I would be very surprised if he doesn't grab a race win this year.
Also aiden moffet very impressive drive from further down the field even if most of it was spent on the grass at some point another start for the future.

Very lucky for all involved with the smith cook incident very very lucky not to have a multi car crash by then.

The more I see of the neal/Jordan incident the more that is clearly not a move to overtake more a move to hit him off and the result should of been reversed but lets move on to rd3.

Not really surprised to see that the BTCC will not be racing at Macau at the end of the season!

Pie in the sky thinking from the start. Considering 10+ years ago they stopped using mondello park due to the loss of a certain sponser that paid for the transportation costs to get there.

Also what would any btcc teams gain from going over there to race against a bunch of unknown drivers with a series that has only been set up this year.

So rd3 kicks of this weekend at the super fast thurxton track. No soft tyre used for this weekend so maybe a chance to see a race weekend with the new cars without the tyre lottery of the soft tyre.

Think Honda and bmr will be strong here along with the mgs closely following them but anything could happen and with a mix bag of weather for the weekend its all up for grabs.

One driver not there is alex martin as he has just had a back operation.

All looking abit silly for the Proton team now. Anyone believe the story that Welchs car has a damaged subframe? More like they need the engine to keep Andy Wilmot on side..
Welch Motorsport have gone from looking like the unlucky team to just the down right bloody incompetent.
I don't understand why they switched from the toca engine it was a top 15 car with it and got into the top 10 on a number of occasions. RAR found to there cost about trying a different route with the engine and it didn't work.
