Rd2 btcc Donington park
Discussion
So after the action packed first rd the next race this weekend is at the Donington park race track.
Normally a track suited to the Hondas if that will remain the same for the tourers will have to find out but expect to see Jordan up there as usual alongside the bmws with all 3 having a good showing at the first rd. This track was also the first win for the new bmw.
Hopefully the likes of motorbase will be more competitive along with the pair of protons hopefully both will be out and up to speed.
Race programme starts a bit earlier this time start at 10.30 itv4 on sunday qualifying live on the website if it actually works.
Will be watching on tv hopefully the weather remains like this for a glorious weekend of racing.

Is the VW light enough yet ? They struggled all last year to get to the minimum weight, I don`t recall hearing they`d sorted that for 2014, but I assume they have ?
The team has undergone extensive work on the Passat from what I could work out so I assume they have got the weight down. With a strong outing at brands I think they will be best of the rest after the Honda/mg/bmw but have been wrong plenty of times. Quiet on here today everyone must be out enjoying the sun.
So plato grabs pole ahead of shedden and tordoff.

and full results, shocking pace from dan welch hope he can improve tomorrow, and good show from arron smith a good move to bmr as motorbase looks shocking atm. Menu going well too.

Hardly shocking when the car turned a wheel for the first time in FP2......Will we get the usual raceday drizzle at Donington?

Weather is looking alright for Donington now, latest forecast has the rain staying further south.
Which means it's going to chuck it down and be freezing all day obviously!
You just gone and jinxed it now Which means it's going to chuck it down and be freezing all day obviously!
Logging in for today so much motorsport on today hard to now what to watch btcc/wtcc/f1 on top of the bikes and is wec live today.
Anyone guess for race wins today.
In my opinion on the last lap incident both drivers knew what they were doing turks was pushing in off the track and shedden put the car there to make turks do it.
If turks had stayed on the track and hadn't had made contact then I would say the race was to be reversed and turks would win, but as turks turned in on shedden and both ran through the gravel (and as much as it pains me to say it as not being a fan of shedden) he shouldn't and incidentally hasn't lost the race win.
Just hope cole and Holland can make it on to the grid at thruxton both with heavy damage and one a wright off. 1 of only 2 ngtc cars to do so the other being the pirtek Honda at rockingham last year.

Just caught up with it and don't agree with sheddon getting the place, if I remember rightly he was leading plate a year or 2 back, defended well and left no room to get by, braking earlier and earlier, caughtbplato out and he bashed up up the arse and sheddon went ballistic and got the position reversed. I know it's not exactly the same but turkington had the inside line, yes sheddon had overtaken on the brakes but he would have never made the corner so that's just bks. He never had any intention on making that corner.
But plato who hit shedden didn't even attempt to avoid a collision and got the place via contact. This time both shedden and turks where side by side turks made contact first and both went across the gravel so both went of track and gained an advantage, shedden was also alongside and slightly ahead at the point both went off. And this is coming from someone who doesn't even like shedden.
